I'm not quite sure what to make of it and it had a false return e-mail address, so for now I'll be optimistic and give it a credibility rating of "5" From: confidential To: jeff Date: Tue, 16 Nov 2004 Subject: '06 Acura EL/Civic Hi Guys I saw the '06 Acura EL / Civic. Here are the facts for the '06 Acura EL. 2.0 DOHC i VTEC engine 200 HP, "possible" DSG trany, paddle shift levers behind steering wheel, drive by wire, engine is reversed (intake at front) NAVI AM FM CD DVD XM Sat ready, 5.1 suround sound system...with 8" sub in center of rear deck, electric steering, pump lever seat adjustment for height, split instrument display. Display closest to steering wheel displays tach, fuel ect. display closest to front window displays speed digitally. P205/55/16 tires. full auto climate control (digital display). The car sits a little closer to the ground and the suspension is a little different but basically the same multi link rear setup. I'm not sure how many of these features would be passed down to the Civic line. Source: http://www.VTEC.net

the car looks very sporty in those chops. will that rear spoiler affect rear view visability? it seems a bit impractical

Re: (Dal)
I used to have a Mercedes Sportscoup and it had the same kinda spoiler and it did not affect the visibility towards the back. So I am guessing it will be alright here, too if it ever gets put into the final model.

I wonder how different the U.S. version will be compared the Euro/Asian market versions. I hope they bring back the wishbone front suspension, and give it at least 160 hp for the EX trim 200 for the SI trim. I may be wrong but a current exchange rates a 20,000. pound car would cost 36,000.00 dollars in the U.S. OUCH!

The rear photoshop doesn't look that bad...it's the profile view that looks awful.

Another impression from Mag-X, who claim the nose will be similar to the Japanese-market Odyssey (and the larger Elysion minivan). https://gateway.nifty.com/serv...1.jpg (silly thing keeps changing the address)

I like the first chops better than the Mag-X. Of course MAg-X frequently goes a little wild with their chops and get the wrong. The first chops are a little too out there for me, but I could live with that design.

Could you imagine this car with type-S AWD? Probably would be cost prohibitive, but think of the handling...

Re: (coolbluelb)
I'm thinking on that rear door.....isn't it a bit like the RX-8? I mean, it's way too small. Will this be the only available body or will there be a high 5 door like the current one?. If so, would there be two 4-door bodies in the lineup? My guess is, they will radically change the Civic "concept" just like they have done several times in the past. Forget about the practical Civic, this time it's about looks and fun.

240hp 2.4L Type R version. That would be quite intereting as the golf and focus are going V6. Suddenly V6s are creeping into C segment cars, when only a few years ago D segment cars couldn't afford it. Its only a matter of time for us to see a V6 in a VW polo, they started the C segment V6 anyways.
