My, they certainly jazzed up the design, NOT. It's 10 times frumpier and with about the same amount of enthusiasm as a Toyota design. The old one looks much better, more cohesive and rounded and less try hard. Love the door handles, thanks Passat, and the wheels, but what happened to the rear? The whole front looks elongated with that new grille and the headlight kick is a horrible attemtp to add charactor. The bumper designs are uninspiring, and while the interior still looks nice and is sure to be quality, theire is no design flair there either. The side profile of both the 5 door and 3 door is lacking in wow factor, especially the 3 door I might add with its blulky C pillar. VW must be shi**ing themselves after seeing the new Fiesta, and hoping that the next Focus doesn't follow its lead because if that's anything to go by it will be stunning.

I actually think the Corolla/Auris hatch has more flair. Big thumbs down from me.

I bet it looked just like these

If it does this looks less "new model" than the facelifted Ford Focus (EU). I hope Volkswagen have created an interior which makes ALL the difference otherwise i can't see this becoming a sales success for more than 1-2 years (people will probably think it is a facelift)..especially given how the new Focus, Mazda3, Astra,Megane etc are just around the corner
