Default 2018 Baojun 510

http://www.carscoops.com/2017/02/gms...ust-under.html

Budget SUV (8000$ !!) by GM's China only discount brand. So far,m China only.

Whilst nothing ground breaking or superbly attractive, it surely doesn't look especially cheap, particularly on the inside, let alone starting at 8.000 Dollar cheap. And top versions still are at 10k (the one pictured with stitched leatherette on the dash, sat nav and generally neat detailing).

Surely there is no ground breaking technology underneath (no info on engines or platform so far), but I doubt too many customers of small CUVs will care.

Also, I find it interesting how the grille looks nearly the same as the upcoming DS SUV.

Geez, that exterior is quite a horror show.

So many rip offs in this car...I see a bunch of previous gen Santa Fe, Renegade (back wheels notably) and some Jeep touches on the interior.

Overall - not hideous, just not original.

VW needs something with this much style. Yes it borrows cues, but it's a lot better looking than the horror show known as the CRV.

The new CRV isn't terrible - but it's not fantastic to look at either (at least to these eyes)...MILES ahead of the previous gen.

This said - I'm seeing a PILE of the new CRV's on the road - I'll hazard that it'll be #1 or 2 in the category for 2017.

Looks perfectly fine, for what it is--a Chinese vehicle that mashes up all the latest styling cues into one vehicle. It's not great design, but I don't find it offensive, either. Mostly, it's utterly forgettable.

he... I can see:
- Citroen/DS "floating roof"
- "DS Wing "grille
- C4 Picasso/C3/C3 Aircross DLR and headlamp configuration
- shoulder line and third side window as on latest Citroen concepts

all that stuck, rather unimaginatively, over even duller and more generically shaped "shoe box" than previous VW Tiguan...
frankly, a car made by people without imagination, for the people without imagination...

What about the back wheels in particular are Renegade-esque? And why not the front wheels, when they aren't any different?

Sorry - the way the rear wheels fit into the arches of the wheel wells reminds me of the Renegade.
