Looks decent but predictable. I suspect the wagon will be the main seller here.

Pretty sure that this is a reskin of the current model, but IMO a lot better than the Golf (which has a similar situation); I especially prefer the inside, the screens look better integrated, I will definitely prefer hard buttons over sift touch for the main functions (also, the soft buttons in the Golf seem to be half the size of a human finger), and the fabric on the dash is just such a simple solution to make a dash look less plasticky. And hooray, a new VAG product without fake exhausts :)

Honestly, nobody will care if it is just a reskin (which I agree it most definitely is), there was nothing wrong mechanically with the current car.
It looks much better than the predecessor (especially the facelift model) and especially the interior looks modern yet usable, so quite an attractive offering overall. Kudos!

This ticks every single box where the Golf VIII fails miserably. And all at the same price, if not lower. The new Golf is not worth considering now, This belongs to larger sedans though, not compact cars...which adds salt to the wound. So, unless you are in need of a smaller car, that makes the comparison a no-brainer.

Since it will compete in a different segment, the comparison is not really fair. For me, the smaller size (18cm less than my current car!) plays in its favour. mostly when boot size and habitability is similar.

Myself, i think this is much sportier than the previous gen, and i don't really care if it's a re-skin or not. It probably is in terms of platform, but certainly not in terms of drivetrain.
