there is Audi S-line and M-Sport packages for every BMW there is (well a lot of them).

IS started with IS F-Sport (in addition to IS-F), which got f-sport factory parts to regular engine IS's.

Now GS is going to do the same thing with exception of GS F-Sport having even more distinction with active shocks, active steering and rear wheel steer, together with all the other things that IS F-Sport has.

The rear side window and door line intersection should've been done IS-like; the way Lexus did it makes me think of a G37 for some odd reason. I feel like they did a reasonably well job of executing the rest of the exterior's styling; having the chrome grill surround end where it ends prevents it from looking Audi-like, but it's resolved much better on the CT. Rear-end is too Sonata-like, though. I think it's kinda sad that the GS's quad lamps are completely gone, though (that said, though, cues unique to varying Lexuses have been unfortunately abandoned over the past few years in the name of "styling unity").

Tentatively I'll say it's better than I was expecting, maybe even much better. I thought I was going to hate the grille but I actually like it - a bit fussy perhaps, but distinctive.

The rear window/door area is strange though.

I'm gonna go look at my refrigerator, it has better lines. This is as dull as any other recent Lexus.

I sort of agree. It ditches the ickyness of the current one with a much better look, but a Genesis is better resolved and the 5 series more aggressive. Lexus probably thinks this is a 10/10 aggressive move and 10/10 for them is 2/10 for us. This needed to be Jaguar CXF stunning in production form. heck they should have just produced the concept.

With the way this looks, they should be leading with the GS-F as the first model. This will get buried just as fast as the Infiniti M fell off the radar.

Really sucks to be a Lexus fan right now.

It amazes me that after I look at this production vehicle and then back at the concept vehicle (which I HATED) I find myself thinking the concept vehicle looks so much better. The front of the production car is ok but the rear 3/4 is straight from a G37 and the rear is a combo between Hyundai, CT, and ugly.

Like it or not, Lexus is an aging, dying brand and for them to claim this is the "bold new expression" for Lexus, and for it to be any less than best looking in class, means it will automatically get forgotten in the marketplace. The fact is, looking like this, the ONLY thing the GS has over its competitors is "reliability," a trait it no longer has a stranglehold on. I'm not saying it looks terrible, but I don't' think anyone can argue convincingly that it looks better than an A6, a 5er, or an XF. And we'll see about the drive... but also unlikely. Old power trains, old transmission. Really the thing the GS had hidden in its hand was its styling, and now we see it's a big ol flop.

Of course, this all based crappy on spy pics.

I was really hoping for the aggressive front end. Hopefully it will be corrected in the facelift.
