Default 2010 Chevrolet Camaro

CarTribe has procured a few shots and the initial details of the production Chevrolet Camaro ahead of its official unveiling this Monday. According to their report, the Camaro will come in LS, LT and SS trim, equipped with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic. Of course, that doesn't account for the very-obviously-marked RS car that is shown in the official photos, so who knows what the whole story is.

Engine choices include either a 296 hp, 3.6-liter V6 or a 416 hp 6.2-liter V8 which will feature cylinder deactivation to boost fuel economy. Underneath the retro sheetmetal is a full independent suspension and StabiliTrak traction control system. Four-pot Brembo brakes are mounted up front on the SS variant, and the 3,700-pound coupe will reportedly have a weight balance of 52/48, front/rear. The neuvo-retro theme is carried inside with a gauge cluster inspired by the 1969 model, along with leather seats and blue LED lighting.

We'll have more specs and images as information becomes available.

And it's official, the years-long campaign of spy shots really took the excitement out of the big reveal. Still, I love it. Gorgeous body, awesome headlamps, and I personally love the interior.

This looks really great, again not a big suprise though. The interior looks to have really come together. It's GREAT. easily beats the Dodge and the Ford at least for now. Very solid job.

its odd because the info autoblog got from their source said there will be an LS LT and SS, but showed pictures of an RS. I'm very happy they virtually kept the concept headlamps.
and the interior, while it isnt perfect, it still surpasses the competition.

I just dont get the hind end of this beast. the half-round lights in a trapezoidal bezel with the chrome surround is way to fussy. They should have just went with the 70-72 models all round with the back up light in the center of the second light. Otherwise it's not bad.....and this is coming from a Mustang die-hard.

Beautiful, as I expected - even thought there's a lot we already knew!
I suppose the big reveal on 7/21/08 will show the car live and full specs will be disclosed, too.
Only thing: there's no Navigation on the IP in the interior pic - and the Zeta platform-mate Pontiac G8 does not offer factory navigation/GPS. Could it be that the Camaro pictured is not optioned with it? The G8, though designed with global market in mind, is sourced from Australia, and for some reason it's not wired from the factory to accept OEM Navigation, the same case for the Epsilon I-based Malibu.

It's perfect inside-out. I love the agressive headlights, the retro-yet-modern-and-cool interior and the great proportions and perfect/pure sports car shape. This is probably the best looking American car...
