Default 2020 Mercedes Benz GLS

Appears to be official now (or there are at least more pics that have shown up in high quality), so I'm adding a thread here compared to Spy Shots.

Silver one is especially beautiful, if a bit plain. The amg package helps. The rear is a little too Infiniti QX80 for me though.

The X7 is the win in this segment by far.

Pretty easily the best-looking of the biggest German SUVs in my opinion, especially in AMG Line trim. It’s interesting because I usually don’t care for the AMG appearance packages, but this one is working for me.

Oddly, there are no pics of this being available with the diamond block grille that all their other models get...

are we talking about the "angry grill"?

Like the one here?

If so, from all the spy pics, even the AMG, it seems this grill is not present on the new GLS.

Yes, the official name for that is the diamond-block grill.

It is, however, available on the GLE, which is why I'm surprised we haven't seen it:

Then again, just because we haven't seen it yet doesn't mean we won't...so I guess time will tell when it enters production.

The grill on the AMG, like that on the facelifted GLC and GLC Coupe, is called the panamericana grill:

On the GLE, is it part of an appearance package? I can sort of see why MB might not include it on the GLS, which even in current AMG form, doesn't look that diff from stock. Maybe the GLS is supposed to be too "dignified" for the addt'l bling?

It looks to be part of their "AMG Line" package, at least on the GLE.
