Default 2021 Honda Civic

Pictured is the 2022 Type R. I've labelled the thread 2021 Honda Civic, since the regular version(s) are expected to debut later this year.

Hard to tell w/ the camo and huge rear wing, but the profile certainly seems to have been smoothed out, and there's a bit of a mini-Accord look to this. I absolutely hated the styling inside and out of the current model, so anything would be an improvement. Interior moves the screen a top of the dash, and is what I assume is a HUGE volume knob clearly visible.

They’ll probably all be 2022’s, even if they debut late this year and go on sale in early 2021. This report says the next gen isn’t being revealed until 2021: https://www.carscoops.com/2020/05/al...-massive-wing/

Hard to get a sense of what this is going to look like under the camo, but time will tell

I liked the current styling - excluding the nose. This said, I think the current Insight is a great opportunity to show what the Civic should have been....Hopefully they tone down the racerboy image - but who knows, I'm an old fart

Mini Accord styling would be a big improvement, though hopefully it does away with the Accord's unibrow.

Agreed; Id wager the unibrow is gone and the Odyssey facelift is a preview of that spreading through the lineup.

I think this is the ILX test mule as the leaked Acura dealer slides seem to suggest that a new compact sedan is coming out. Of course it will have a Type-S, but probably will not have the 3.0T.

Agree to disagree - this is clearly a hatch and also the interior infotainment in the spyshots doesn't match up with Acura's current system, whereas it is different but similar to the general layout of the current Accord.

Given the Civic's life cycle, a new one is due sooner than the ILX replacement hinted in the Acura presentation

Assuming the rear wing is real and not camo, it would have to be a hatch; otherwise, there isn't enough clearance to open the trunk! (which would very un-Honda)

A bit off topic, but I do wonder if the ILX will be based off a shortened TLX platform since it wouldn't make much sense to build a new platform for a single model (IMO)....

Then again the current ILX is based on the old Civic, so a new replacement could be based on the larger current or next gen civic

The overall feeling one gets from the current Honda Civic is aggression, chunkiness and deliberate butchness. Its too butch in a way and that means it might not be butch at all.

Evidently Honda is now designing as if inspired by 14 year-olds ideas of a hot car. There are non-functional mesh-effect apertures on the rear bumper, non-functional or mock panel gap grooves on the bonnet, faux-mesh on the front bumper air intakes, and the car now has a faux-coupe or saloony look to it. I cant imagine what the next one will look like.
