Default New Ram?

I hope it's the real deal, 'cause it's not bad, not bad at all.

Looks indeed like it could be the real deal and it's a huge leap stylistically over the current Ram.

Check the second photo at allpar:

http://www.allpar.com/model/ram/2009-ram.html

The front end and headlight shapes are consistent with this new photo.

My vote is that its the real deal.

It is certainly consistent with all of the descriptions I've read so far and the spy shots I've seen. And doing a quick look around, I can't really find a picture that looks like a possible original for photoshopping this one.

That said, while it is unmistakably a Ram and a Dodge, I'm not sold on it. I had mixed feelings when I heard about the inwardly sloping grille a la the Charger in the early descriptions; actually seeing the effect applied here, I still have my reservations.

While mechanically, it sounds like a big step forward with the coils in the back instead of leafs, outside it is too evolutionary. It looks to be the door thing that plagues some Fords. The doors look awfully similar, if not the same, to the current generation. I know that trucks tend to be quite evolutionary with styling changes (except from the late 80s into the early 90s), but with Ford and Chevy you can look at the new one and tell it's new. To the untrained eye, this could pass for a facelift of the current gen. Same thing happened when the current truck debuted with the original headlights. Even though it is, it doesn't say "ALL NEW." Maybe some more/better pics will help the situation.

If fake, it's one of the best photoshops I've yet seen. So, I'll say real as well.

It reminds me a lot of the current Ford F150 Lariat, especially the round wheelarches and the absence of flared fenders (that were so typical for Dodge Ram). The good thing in my eyes are the clear lines on the front. I'm surprised how the storage boxes at the sides of the bed turn out to be, the openings look smaller than I had expected. Maybe some better (and official :-) ) pictures will show how useful they are.

The forward-tilted "Charger" grille is also a nice touch.

at first i thought this was obviously a PS, something about it just screamed photoshop, but on closer inspection it does seem consistent with the spy shots, and looking at it some more the photoshop-ness seems to disappear (i thought at first the front wasn't in correct perspective, indicating a PS job, but looking at it some more it seems pretty flawless)

i like it, but i agree with mappy in that it doesn't seem to be a big advance over the current car...hoping the interior's a big step forward; it's impossible to say with chrysler, they've been making horrible interiors lately but have shown a huge improvement with the dodge journey...
