Default Honda SUV:E Concept

https://www.autoblog.com/2020/09/27/...ncept-beijing/

Apparently previewing a new electric SUV for the Chinese market. It's quite handsome, with refreshingly simple styling for a Honda. The front in particular comes across as a more agreeable take on the Accord's unibrow.

Agreed. It doesn't look like a typical Honda which, sadly, is kind of a good thing. It looks sporty and yet reasonable practical. Not much in the way of overwrought sheetmetal sculpting, which should bode well for the production model (which I assume would be even more simple looking).

Looking forward to the production model. I wonder if it will use GM batteries?

Looks like a generic Chinese concept. I imagine it's getting watered down to this 4-door prototype:

I'm sad that Honda isn't capitalizing on the design language of the E. They could develop a nice family of vehicles with simple, retro-inspired styling. And what was the point of the roadster last year too...

Could be a new HR-V replacement

Very likely previewing the next gen H-RV;

But:

Comparing proportions, the wheel size and the general sleekness, and then looking at the covered up prototype, I can already smell the disappointment once the real car is revealed; The classic massive watering down of concept to production will be present.

I'm still having trouble believing the camo'ed vehicle is the next HR-V. First, Honda is generally VERY good at keeping their vehicles under wraps. For example, we've seen spy shots of the next Civic that have heavier camo covering most of the detailing...but the first time we see this "HR-V" we can basically see the entire body, grille, headlights, etc?

As others noted, the detailing is somewhat similar up front but that's where the similarities end, not to mention it appears to have a round logo covered in the grille and that's obviously not the shape of the H logo from Honda. I still think the camo'ed vehicle is something else.
