Yes it sits above the Camry.
In Australia, the Camry that looks like the USDM model is only sold with a 4-cylinder engine (this includes the Hybrid model).


The Aurion which is based on the Asian Camry is only sold with a V6.

Ok, I definitely prefer the Camry over the Aurion. Hands down! The Aurion is too plain.

Wouldn't have said that about the previous model, as the Aurion was better resolved.

Same here - the last Aurion was a definite improvement over the Camry, but this is plain, like an oversized Corolla. And the interior looks IMO way less modern and upscale than in the Camry.

The only difference is, one's made in Australia and one isn't. Also, a Camry with an Avensis face is probably better looking than a Camry with a Honda Civic face.

Huh? Both the Australian market Camry and Aurion are built in Altona (Melbourne).

I saw the all-new 2012 Aurion at my local Toyota dealer and I must say I was very impressed with it. The styling on the Sportivo models looks pretty aggressive and really nails the sporty look very well. They also had the Presara trim which looked very elegant. I will go as far to say that the all-new 2012 Toyota Aurion is the best looking Australian built car ever made.

This sits as Camry in ASEAN countries. And since the Camry serves as a great starter kit for a Lexus the way it hushes sounds, vibrations and the silky ride it offers; a glammed-up Camry with driving electronic nannies, power everything including telescoping steering wheel, keyless transponder & start/stop system, power rear sunshade, power reclining rear seats, rear center console AC/Audio override controls, HID with adaptive light system, electrochromic mirrors, tri-zone climate control etc. makes the Lexus ES350 redundant and way overpriced. Even some of the Camry's features is not available in the Lexus.
