2008 Honda Accord

These pics were taken by a member of AcuraZine of what could be the next Accord undergoing powertrain testing. He reported that it had a higher ground clearance and bigger fenders. He also noted as you can vaguely see, Manufacturer Plates "DST 3421".
You might not be satisfied but soon, there will be more revealing spyshots.
Link-

Uh, the V6's have had that for at least two generations now. My mom has a current gen V6 with them, and prior to it we had a 98 that also had the same setup.

Re: 2008 Honda Accord (CaymanS)
An AWD accord? That's what it looks like with those huge fenders. Could Honda be taking the mid-size family sedan segment to a whole new level?
Sure, the Ford Fusion already offers AWD, but most people who buy these cars don't take domestics seriously enough to take notice.
Looks like Toyota may have to go back to the drawing board a little early with the next Camry in order to keep up.
Seems as though GM is giving its revamped Epsilon (mid-size) platform AWD too. Is Toyota going to be unprepared for the AWD onslaught?

Re: 2008 Honda Accord (runningonempty)
Accord needs SH AWD, and nothin else.

mzoltarp 12-09-2006 05:42 AM

Could it be that the extra width is making way for a Honda-badged Avalon competitor as well as a new Accord in the next round?

I think just AWD would be fine enough to draw in the customers.

As power increases, especially in V6 editions, AWD is more suited to handle the extra power and torque.
It looks that next generation Accord is gonna be one fine vehicle, judging by the rendering of that coupe concept to debut at NAIAS 2007 and seeing the latest model generations that were introduced over the past year or two.
