Automatic log offs...

When I have a gap in viewing CSS, or if I go to another site, when I come back to CSS I find that i've automatically been logged out.

Is there a way of constantly staying on, or disabling the auto log off?

Sorry if there is a really easy way to do it that I haven't seen!

I had the same problem. I clicked on remember me option but it wouldn't remember me at all. It's fixed but I don't know how I fixed it. I didn't touch any of the settings. I think it kinda fixed itself. What browser do you use? I use Firefox all the time but I remember using IE a week back or so for FTPing and may have used it to log into CSS. Maybe that fixed it.

Clearing cookies and doing a proper log in (ie, not quick log in) remembering to tick the box often fixes it. Sometimes doesn't. Try it and let us know ;)

I will try that. Thanks. It only seems to be the works computer that logs me off, so maybe that's the problem?

Thanks for your help Cozz and Fresa!

Seems like your work browser doesn't except cookies.

I've heard of 'cookies' before, but i'm not quite sure what they are. Could you enlighten me lol?

I only know about the chocolate chip variety.

Dumb question. There's also the chocolate and cream cookies, the plain cookies, the coconut cookies and whole bunch more!

The more boring cookies, as I understand it in my "Technology for dummies is hard" mind, is the information stored on your computer from some websites and so on. So for example, when you chose "Remember me" for email accounts and forums, the "Cookies" are the information stored in your comp to allow the page to keep you logged in.

But me explaining Technology is like a bunch of primary kids explaining Thermonuclear Biophysics (does that even exist? :p) so I'll let someone smart like Cozz to explain better ;)

Yeah, you're right. But Chocolate chip cookies are the daddy IMO!

Thanks for the info. I get what you mean 'Fresa... you'll be a bio phyi-what-d-ya-call-it in no time!

I've also noticed that when I type really long essay type posts, that when I click 'submit reply' it asks me to log in again. Fairly annoying as I'm never sure if it actually posted my post so to speak. Is this Cookies too?

that darn cookie monster...
