Hmm should I choose between the biggest SUV on the planet, versus it's slightly smaller brother, versus a midsized from the competition, versus a brand new aisan full sizer, versus an ageing in between sized from an asian manufacturer?<p>Nice choices there...

yeah really nice choices there. I'd pick the Chevy Tahoe, even though it is the oldest of them all.

i saw a new pathfinder the other day, better than the armada, but the floor is too low and makes the entire thing look like a VAN

I'd pick a 2005 VOLVO XC90.<p>-Nice design<br>-SAFETY<br>-Good engines(not talking for the 650hp one)<br>-High quality meterials<p>I really like that car. I test drove it too and it was excellent. And it is does not cost too much.

The Volvo! People have said it, but its safe, stylish, nice driving etc etc. I really like Volvo's. But i'd also give the VW Tourareg a go! They really do look great.

The original choices were very narrow, almost all were domestic brands - american automakers.

Hmm...I think this poll probably needed a little more qualification -- "Which SUV would you pick for (task/purpose here)?"<p>If the purpose is to pick the best mid/full-size SUV, I'll stick with the '05 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Why in the world is an M6 in there?!<p>Anyhoot, I'll take an X5, any type, I'd be more than happy to even have the 3.0i. It easily outstrips any other SUV for normal on-road conditions, probably tied with the Cayenne and the RX330.

VW Touareg is the best IMO at least until the new Audi Q7 arrives. <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.germancarfans.com/images/forums/bowdown.gif" BORDER="0">
