View Full Version : How much are you worth by the time you leave the house?

I was thinking about a thread we had once about how many elctronics we usually carry, and I got to thinking. Those electronics can add up to a pretty penny. Add the price of those elctronics to the prices of assorted fashionable clothes and accessories, and each of us can easily be worth anywere from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars (based on the stuff you have on and with you) by the time we live the house.
I tried doing my self and was taken aback at the amount I came up with (If muggers only knew). So think about it long and hard and tell us, how much do you think you are worth, absed on the stuff you wear and regularly have on you, (on average) by the time you leave the house...

I started that thread oh so long ago. Lets see, including the cash I carry on any given day: 750-775 dollars by the time i leave the house
Include everything that a thief can take off you and cash (including credit cards and bank cards). The idea is to figure out the value of that which is on your person on any average day. Keep it realistic please.
I would venture to say that for many of you the numbers are closer to $10,000 and in some cases higher.

I'm worth more in organ resale value than anything a thief would get from his friendly local fence for my meagre possessions. A 2 year old PDA and a previous model mobile phone. Most days I don't even take my wallet with me and I only have one credit card in that anyways. Gold, but only one.
Nah; two kidneys, heart, lungs (nice and pink), corneas and various other bits.
A year old phone - originally 250, but free to replace from insurance
My credit cards/bank account - not telling, but also free to replace with fraud protection
t-shirt - $20
pants - $50
jacket - $120
shoes - $60
looks like I'm worth about . . . $250 (clothes) in items that aren't protected by insurance of some sort.
i don't wear watches nor sunglasses nor fancy clothes nor anything like that, I tend to save my money for certain expensive hobbies.
If they caught me on a day when I was partaking in one of my hobbies (not including the car or roadcourse racing), they could get away with about $2,000 in goods

well, let's see. on school days, i wear cruddy school shirts and shorts that are falling apart...so that's about $15 at the most there...school books and binder would total up to about $50 i'd say (typically i take with me my one $15 binder and a book that our teachers say are $30-40). then my $20(?) backpack...so that's $85 in total. on non-school days, everything (a.k.a clothes, that's it) would total up to about $30 (i wear better clothes outside of school )

Well.... I'll use today as an example. I've actually tought about this myself, and it's actually not fun.
During the winter, my jacket alone is almost 400, then we got about 150 for the shoes, plus the rest of my clothes about 250 (note : this is not the case during the whole year).
