Since this is the place for news of all kind, I thought I share this with you. The article is in German, sorry about that. It is basically about a Mercedes test driver who appearantly was testing W221(new S-Class) in Sweden, when he hit a 44yr old woman, who died from her injuries. According to DCX he was going the normal speed, but Swedish police states that he mustve gone way too fast. There were 10 W221 test cars and he appearantly tried to pass the others when his car slid on the ice and hit the woman. Here is the link to the article:
http://focus.msn.de/hps/fol/ne...11898

So much for all the pedestrian safety features and collision avoidance driver's aides.

Yaknow, why is it always a DCX car? Does DCX not train their test drivers well enough? There is always some Mercedes or smart mule in the news for hitting another car or object on the road. WE've seen pictures of a W221 that was hit, or had hit something, I mean. At the very least why can't DCX keep it hidden from the media?
Beyond that, it's very sad she lost her life, (although I'm sure quite a few of you would have gladly taken her place) and I hope DCX fairly compensates the family for their loss.

That was not a DCX driver though, that was a journalist driving. Of course the media will know about THAT one

How do you write a police report when the car doesn't exsist?

Nice advertising for pedestrian safety
just kiddin', but I can imagine DCX being fed up with this, certainly since it's not the first time. I think it's just bad luck combined with speeding. Not a nice way to launch a new car anyway.

So much for that bumper air bag. Back to the drawing board.

I dont think the bumper airbag would of been functional with all that camo still on the car

was this a heavily cammo'd car, or just some tape?
