So the SuperDutys get a facelift for the 2006 model year, and they get redesigned for the 2007 year?

everybodys getting confused here, the detroit news pics are spy pics of the 2005 SD. The towrig pics are the 2007.The detroit pics are from 2004 when they released the 05 SD. The pics I got are for the 2007 super dutys.

What is it? Another facelift? *cough cough* I mean redesign based on the same chasis, suspension, brakes, ...
But for once, they don't need one so desperately. The "Heavy Duty" Ford still is probably best in class...
Just don't play with facelifts so much, I mean It gets annoying!

It's believed that the look of these trucks will be a further development of the F-350 Tonka concept, bringing the eye-popping brashness of that model to market. The company is reportedly stressing the cabin design of the new Super Duty trucks, with at least five different interior trim levels available. Choices will range from the functional to luxurious. Ford has also extended its contract with Harley-Davidson past 2007, so it can be expected that Harley-Davidson as well as King Ranch editions of the various Super Duty models will be available. It's likely that the first of these new trucks will appear in the fall of 2006.

source: edmunds

Given that the Mega Cab is a generation behind this, I would hope this has a better interior. I actually saw one of these, strangely enough, on a hauler heading north on I-77 in South Carolina. I, unfortuneately, only had a camera phone on me and was heading southbound, so I only caught a glimpse of it and a pic of the back pillar of the semi, but it was still kind of cool. I really hate the passenger side of this though, how it says "Super Duty" in big letters across the dash. Seems a bit cheesy and 80's if you ask me.

Don't forget that for 05 ford completely redid the frame and suspension, brakes and all other underpinnings. They simply freshened the front and rear and the dash for 05. About the only thing that stayed was the bodyshell and virtually still brand new 6.0 and torqshift to begin with. Both of the gas motors went to 3v and included the fantastic 5 speed auto. For 07 it gets the asthetic update and rumored more power for the already #1 most capeable truck you can buy. Considering the '05 can already tow up to an amazing 19000 lbs it would be very interesting to see what another 150+ ft/lbs(if true) would do
That last interior link looks legit with the 'SUPER DUTY' theme in the dash matching the 06 explorer/sport trac and 07 expedition interior themes. Many other brands claim 'new truck' all the time with ancient underpinnings cough-dodge/gm-cough... Ford's actually redoing 2 complete platforms in under 5 years vs the other's do-it-all single dimentional truck lines. With hit after hit of new interiors for Ford, I'm sure it will look great when its all sorted out.

could the vents mean a bigger engine is on the way?

what is the deal with fender vents these days? Buick made them look good on the Park Avenue and Lucerne, but then came the Dodge Nitro, Cadillac Escalade and now Ford with this.

Side vents (range Rover/LR3 included) can be vestigal, or functional. With underhood areas getting smaller and smaller, there is a strong need to improve under hood airflow and these are the way to go

They couldn't stop with the Navigator, could they? They really need to step back and take a good look at their truck styling program. I realize that in the face of new competition, you need to do something to set yourself apart, but I'm not sure that this is it.

it's very awkward - why don't they just use something more like the super chief's front end? i think the three-bar grille would look great on ford's trucks and SUVs. the super chief, apart from being massively oversized, was a great-looking truck. and not as awkward as this either...oh well, at least the interior's nice..

The weird thing is the F Series truck made in Brazil is exported to Aus and South Africa (steering on right hand side without modification believe it or not). The trucks even get a 5.4 litre V8. Just to add to the confusion, the equivalent of the F-250+ sold in Brazil is sold as the F-100. I'm disappointed in this "facelift" for the heavy duty F series but to be honest, I doubt business owners really care what their trucks look like. I'm just glad the hiccups with the Powerstroke diesels have hopefully been ironed out.
M0L0TOV

Those trucks are awesome. Look like Semi trucks.

Looks better but still kind a weird. I really want to see final images as I am curious on how it will really look.
28 is the date it will be unveiled, right?

Hey all,
Ford has finally broken cover and removed the "Leopard" camo on the next generation Super Duty. I must say, when comapred to the new Super Duty offerings from Chevrolet and GMC...the Ford Super Duty just looks more capable and more aggresive. Especially due the woefully small wheels on the GM trucks. But that is just me.
I think the new Super Duty with the help of the new 6.4 Liter Power Stroke will finaly silence most of the critics and the competition.
Well...Enjoy:
http://www.leftlanenews.com/20...f-450/
Remember, Stay Fabulous!
RG59061
