It's like a proffessional cleaner.
As far as I know it can be used to purify the air in your house. Vacuums are what cause most of the dust. This vac supposedly releases none of that. I think it can also wash carpets as well as vacuum(duh). They also last for really long as BenFarkas says.
I would only buy it for that money if I had a huuuge house and was quite rich OR was allergic to a lot of things. I have other things for which I can spend money
Do you have a lot of pets CP?

No, I have no pets that i keep in my house. I do have a German Shepard however i keep him outside And when I said "tight ass" or w/e I mean Kool i guess......

We have had our G5 model for about 10 years now. Its an amazing vacuum and i expect it to last for a very long time.
And yes they have an amazing amount of attachments and accesories.
My friends grandmother has an original G1 model from the 50s that she still uses thats only required 1 belt replacement.

Is this what your parents bought:
http://www.thevacuumcenter.com/ultimate-g.shtml
If so, Look at the price on that page. They paid $1,300 too much.
