Automobile Magazine is the best
They provide excellent information with humor and without being biased as C&D is sometimes.
I haven't had AutoWeek, it comes every week right?
Don't subscribe to too many mags coz you have good info online and nothing is better than CSS

The best car magazine in the world is of course Car magazine straight out of the UK. Best photography, best articles, best writers. If you want weekly rumour mags that concentrate on chops from Germany and "news" that they've stolen from forums like this one, Auto week / auto express/ auto bild is for you. If you want facts, beautiful cars and intelligent comment, then get Car.
http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/nav?page=car

CAR does have exceptional photography

but i dont think general layout and execution gets WORSE than car and driver or motortrend

I got Road & Track, and Motor Trend. I gotta say that R&T is great it has very good pictures and lots fo test drives, MT has improved ALOT now they include more test drives adn comparisons. To me they are both GREAT mags and they are cheap too.

Motor Trend and Road and Track are complete crap IMO, MT has started improving though since Angus McKensize came over from Car. If you can afford it Solar, try and subscribe to Car. Much more expensive than MT or any of the other American mags, but it usually has much more comparisons per issue, more articles, and great photos. Also, it seems like Car has a lot less ads then any of the American mags, not to mention the pages seems stronger

CAR UK tend to make up complete bullsh** for apparently 'production ready' cars and such. (BMW Z10 with a twin-turbo V10? Puh-lese) I just don't like them that much, although their photography is top-notch.

National Geographic is pretty good, as is the economist. I hear Playboy has good articles, but I wouldn't know anything about that.

my fave magazine is probably Truckin, Motor Trend, and Car and Driver. As for foriegn mags, I love Evo, and Car isn't bad methinks. I checked out a copy of Top Gear, and it was, well, annoying. They seem to rag on anything not produced, or lfrom Europe. Oh well, all in all a good read.

i used to have a subscription to motor trend back in the days of c. van tune. it's gone down hill from there but i think angus mackenzie could just be what the magazine needs.
i like car and driver for its wit and humor, but overall my favorite american magazine is automobile; brilliant pictures, opinion, and humor.
can't beat UK's Car magazine though.

ah yes, C Van Tune was a great editor; they overhauled twice when he was around, and the magazine got better even every month
then they had a big staff overhaul sometime in 2002, covers sucked ( ok i know the corvett is good but 7 out of 12 covers!!! ) generic front or side shots and they got rid of their infamous " Death Valley Torture Test" ( but it was great the last times they did it.
maybe when css is large enough we can all get a bunch of new SUVs and camp out in death valley :-D
