Software
MS Office: its ok, options are harder to config than i care to venture; its also overpriced as hell
ZoneAlarm : over intrusive IMO, i use Norton
Spybot : good for freeware, not as good as LavaSoft AdAware (fully upgraded only)
Canon A75: who the heck needs manual controls on a digital Camera?, and that thing is bulky and eats 4 AA batteries at a time, shutter speeds need some help and nighttime photography isnt good either, takes great pictures daylight pictures tho
Photoshop CS: its good and its what i started my photoshoping with but some of the veterans say 7.0 was better

All I have is Microsoft Office. I did have Spybot, but AdAware is much better so I just kept it. At least they put the EOS 20D on there. Its simply brilliant for the price. I have to disagree with the A75 though, if you're going to have all those features and use that many batteries, get one of the higher mp A-series digitals.

Sorry again, I actually do have a button that says "MF" on the bottom but I don't if that means manual function. All it does when I press it is a little flower symbol comes onto the screen. Maybe I should read the manual for once?

If you don't need them, then just leave the camera on auto. I'd think it would be nice to know they are there though, in case you ever car to expand into more serious photography.
As for recharable AA's, I use Accu's - Duracell makes them I think, with no issues. I'd recommend going for at least 2300mAh, though.
