does criticism count as a negative remark? because if your drawings aren't very good criticism is only necessary to improve.
i look forward to seeing your designs by the way

You seem to have general concepts down, you might consider keeping an eye on proportion more tho at this early stage in your artistic endeavors. Once you master proportion, everything else looks far better.

The last ones here are easily your best, proportions, though not perfect, are easily good enough to let us see the desings themselves.
You have a definate style of your own showing through, be interesting to see how this goes with more mundane vehicles such as C segment hatches etc (remembering the dimensions needed to keep a reasonable interior size.

03-12-2007, 04:32 PM
Im very impressed! I was looking at your first drawings thinking ehh.... but the ones in that last post are truly some thing great! Would you care to elaborate on how you do your presentation? I think alot of our newer users can benefit from it.

Amazubg improvement since start of thread. How do you color them in?

05-01-2007, 01:59 PM
the lambo and the colored sketchs on the front, are prisma color on copy paper. but ignore them, pay attention to the que(prisma markers on a fancy marker paper, of vellum, im not quite sure). it doesnt have the best shading. But i did that after i learned how to use the markers properly.
now that i look at it i have alot of errors in the way i used the marker, but remember to use the fat side of the marker first and blend your colors evenly. from dark to light/light to dark should be a smooth, viewtiful transition.
for example...
this is very baddd blending

this is blah, work on it,use a lighter shade when doing side details.

this is almost there but not quite it.

as you can see im still a work in progress, and i vowed not to touch my markers until i up my game at line work and weight and i get that fancy paper.
i cant find a marker tutorial right now, since every has forgotten the fundementals of hand rendering and gone digital.
also keep in mind that
your light source always comes from the upper left hand side corner of your paper.(i learned that from a industrial design student, too bad she hated te class)
practice, and never ever ever do something like this...my God what was high on.

seeing how you got skill, go ahead and try some markers, start with greys first to get the basics of value and shading down...keep in mind how the forms work, and DON'T TOUCH PHOTOSHOP
hope that helps

Nice works man, I saw your first works and as I progressed, I saw the way you work evolved...nice...really nice...the Imoala concept, dont make it an Impala please...your design is much better than that...and the Nissan Truck 2...really nice work....Keep goin!
