the supermini:
the design outlined( pillars, body outline and perspective) are BASED ON HAKKINEN Audi A1. I lengthened the body, redesign the headlight, redesigned the grille, adjust the wheels and put rims on it. I added some shading to emphasize the surfaces of the body. Hope this will clarify the situation.

the supercar:

Are your other sketches as original as the one of the supermini is?

Is it the Kia version of my Audi A1?
@ndreas

WOAH! Scandalous...
Nah, I am not out to judge, but I totally see where hakkinen is coming from....
Of course isn't imitation the sincerest form of flattery?

We are all inspired by something or someone and i'm not claiming that i reinvented the wheel with that sketch. But this is not just inspiration. Even the dimensions are the same. Same A pillar, same windscreen, same outline, same wheelbase, same shoulder... and it is a shame, because on his other sketch he mentions his inspiration but not on this one. And the original is just two posts under this, not to mention that i have posted it in the old forum as well.
@ndreas
ps. i now know how hussein felt when he saw something simmilar (although he is 1000 times better than me and he is probably thinking of becoming o pro so it should have been even worse for him - sorry for my English)

It even DOESN'T have a mirror (as in mine), while there is one at the top-left sketch of the same car!
@ndreas

I know, I know, I agree with you... the resemblance is definitely more than coincidental.

03-23-2005, 10:17 PM
hakkinen,yes you are right. sorry i didnt mention it. i took the outline from your design and change the headlight and stuff. entry above has been edited.
thats how i learned how to do sketch, i.e i mean how to make the perspective looks right. sorry again!!
for the rest of the design, the proportion has been refined since 99, especially the supercars, thats why it doesnt resemble any other peoples drawing.if there is, please point it out!!
i will admit from now on, so that it wouldnt create problems later, that, in certain time, i will continue to take a perspective sketch that is available all over internet and modify it to include my design elements. but i can assure that design details, such as lights design,grille, ducts, rims and most importantly the pencil shading to emphasize the surfaces will always be mine or else there's no point in doing the sketch if nothing is mine.
i also would like to share my design objectives here. i intend to share my design element( lights, surface etc) and imagination, not the art of design( i'm not an artist, i am aero engineer).this include integrating these elements in other people's design that share the same characteristic( proportion, perspective, size etc). these are my intention. the next step is to replace the pencil shading with photoshop colouring.
thanks for all the comments and critisms. regardless of all that, several more sketches are coming. they will either: kind of facelifting existing cars, or a sketch of totally new cars that draws design inspiration from some of the cars that i regarded as the best ever.
the inspirations will come from these cars: formula 1, aston db9, lotus gt, lamborgini rear's architecture, noble m14 rear's architecture, zagato raptor air intake, ferrari f430, lincoln sentinel, renault initiale, proton gen2(!!!!, i have to be loyal here!!) porsche carrera gt, audi stunning body surfaces, and of course my all time favourite, art& tech sogna from 1992( have u seen this car???).
if i couldn't get a perfect perspective but i have a design idea, i will take the widely available perspective drawings on the net and i will mentioned it, hence there wouldnt be a repeat mistake. this is the fastest way of learning.

again,,,,sorry hakkinen...next time i will announce every inspiration for each drawings!!!

project highway star!!
a sports saloon. lines inspired by renault initiale. the way the glass area met the roof is inspired by lincoln sentinel. front tyres are half exposed, together with the bumper, draw inspiration from F1. roof is a bit off though. its hard to convey how the rear end looks, as the side view is a bit misleading.
this is intended to be a crazy car. its v8 sits transversly behind the rear sear. luggage area is at the front. rear end is filled with ducts and outlet. rear view will show this.it also needs a diffuser, as the rear roofline will create a lift force.
if i could colour it, it will be in same colour as the maybach concept, with an all black glass.

side view. havent coloured it yet. a bit blur though

Modified by blackcipanz at 2:52 AM 3/24/2005

A Jaguar crossover.Its an mpv+suv, intended to rival something like Merc GST. This is the front perspective view.

06-04-2005, 06:23 AM
this is the side view. it is intended to be long and low.

06-04-2005, 06:30 AM

Fine job with those taillights and that buldge over the rear wheels is so jaguar. On an end note I still don't think Jaguar needs a people mover. isnt that what the GST is?

now THAT looks cool. I really like the design on this one. Great job on the front end. I also like the 360esque wheels. Awesome, just awesome.
