I don't know what magazine this is from but the image is hosted at http://www.lionfreak.at :

Seen at cochespias
It must be noted that aparently peugeot has said in the past that they intend for 4 digit variants (x00x) of many of their models to be produced. However, many have assumed that that meant MPV variants (like the 1007), not crossovers. does anyone know what magazine this is, so they can tell us what the article accompanying this image says.
If this is just a rumor let us know so we can move the post to the appropriate location.
05-11-2005, 02:45 PM
The magazine looks like German "Autozeitung" or "MOT" or something like that...

05-11-2005, 08:18 PM
i think actually the double o seven thingy is for niche models. So maybe The crossover could be called that.
Although it doesnt look so special. Maybe they could make it more SUVish..
05-11-2005, 09:55 PM
Well considering that PSA wants to be in USA and based on growing crossover market here...you can come to your own conclusion.

05-12-2005, 07:10 AM
Keep in mind Peugeot (and Citroen) will both get a version of the next-gen Mitsubishi Outlander, so it might wind up being badged 4007.

05-12-2005, 09:34 AM
That is a bit like what Alfa-Romeo does with the Crosswagon which is based on the 156 SW

05-12-2005, 01:40 PM
as adambravo says... PSA and Mitsubishi teamed up over Mitsu's Outlander. and I saw that chop for the first time just a fiew days after the news was published. first some stupid home made quick chops of Outlander with Pug&Citroen front and then these one...

05-15-2005, 01:07 PM
Are these the chops you seen drugmirko? from forum peugeot

Do these things really sell? If you wanted a 4WD wagon wouldnt be better to buy something that could go off road, and if you wanted a family wagon wouldnt it be better to buy a normal wagon. These supposed 'SUV's' intrigue me. Sports = M3, M5, Vauxhall 220, Monaro etc, Utility = something that could carry more than a tonne in the back, vehicle = well i spose this could come under the vehicle category couldnt it. How many SUV's or SAV's (BMW) have you seen or driven come under all these categories?????????????????

05-19-2005, 08:58 AM
to answer your question, a ton of them. Crossover vehicles are the fastest growing segment of the SUV category. Basically, people preffer the better gas-milage and tall driving osition offered by a crossover, instead of the proportions and gas consumption of an SUV. the diminished off-road ability of a crossover still falls within what most people need in the overwhelming majority of driving conditions they encounter (in the countries where they are most widely solde). As a result, people are finding them to be a more than acceptable compromise to traditional SUV's.

Santemo hit it on the spot. Traditional SUV's like Explorer, TrailBlazer are no longer popular. Its these things that have the most future.

06-23-2005, 12:58 PM
Hang on, wouldn't this just be a plastic 407 with four-wheel drive slightly jacked up? Why would they need a new name for that? Why not jus call it a 407 allroad?

06-23-2005, 07:21 PM
probably not - tho the renders right now are pretty much jacked up 407's, the actual think will probably be a peugoet version of the next mitsubishi outlander. just because it is a 4007 doesn't mean it will share much if anything with the 407, just like the 107 and 1007

If I think of this as a Peugeot on an outlander chasis, it is really dull. But if I think of it like an Outlander with a beautiful Peugeot body, It excites me... I guess all will depend on price. Here I am hoping that since the car is produced in Japan, It'll be pretty competitive pricewise.

Still, they have to do an incredible job to be as good as its contenders - Its getting crowded in that market and It's going to be hard to beat its competitors.

The back looks odd aswell. If these pics are real which I belive they are, this is not an attractive looking car

If the big-mouth grille continues to grow at this rate, the 607 successor won't have the front bumper.
Seriously, I think they should drop it, it looks just awkward now. Like a kid with braces (as someone have said before).

10-25-2006, 04:54 AM
The Outlander looks so much better. Though, I think this can sell well, if reasonably priced.

10-25-2006, 05:12 AM
large mouth...quelle unattractive

10-25-2006, 05:36 AM
Call my crazy but i actualy like the front
Even though im not a fan of the Peugeot "mouth" i think it looks ok here, the Outlander is a very un-Peugeot like SUV and they needed to put the Peugeot quirkiness in it. As always in the metal is what counts for me and i will look forward to seeing it

10-25-2006, 05:56 AM
Wow, I didn't think that this would be a simple rebadge with Peugeot elements on it.
Will this be built by MMC in Japan or will Peugeot build it at one of their plants?

10-25-2006, 06:00 AM
That does have bit poor looks because it's on the same platform from another brand.

10-25-2006, 06:20 AM
It will be built by Mitsubishi.
Peugeot will just buy the vehicles from them.
Diesel engines will be Peugeot's (Mitsubishi will use VW engines).
Could give a good comparison between Peugeot's 2.0l HDI and VW's 2.0l TDi.
More suited to the design than the Peugeot. Still..its dissapointing to think a brand such as Citroen would do so little. I would wait for a proper Citroen design.
Btw should we just create a common topic 2007 Peugeot 4007/Citroen C-Crosser instead of two seperate..right?

10-25-2006, 04:44 PM
It's dissapointing the rest of the car apart from the noses looks so much the same, especially the rear ends, it's not even a half-arsed attempt!
