The May 9,2005 issue of AutoWeek has an interesting cover story on a possible G class based MB truck. I know in the past there has been rumors of a MB truck but indications are they may do it to compete with the Escalade EXT.
Looking at the renderings it appears that MB will remove the 3rd row seats and convert it to a short bed similar to the Ridgeline.

If you look at the bumper of the Hummer you will see that it says Hx. Must be a concept.

But after you said that I can see it's an X.
Was that the only part you could see of the Hummer? Any more pics anyone?

I hope they don't do it. It looks ridiculous. maybe if it was a single cab, something serious. It looks nearly as ridiculous as a Hummer, but thats IMO.

Hummer buggy? what do you mean, Hummer like Buggy? How little respect for themselves does MB have to have as to try to target such a car (as I suppose it refers to H2 or H3)? Man G-Class is way beyond what Hummer is at this point...

I guess they mean as in dune buggy b/c that is what the full photo looks like.

No no no..MB please don't do the truck, they are going to destroy the whole beauty of this car..nooooo..I mean why make a truck out of a car that cost more than $100,000? there are other cars for that..like Honda, or Ford..but not MB plzzzz
please somebody tell me that this is a chop

I think the reason the Caddy is so successful is because you get this great looking luxury truck for about $55,000.. Merecedes would never compete with that price and the truck would flop.

I really like the BMW pickup and the rear end of the MB truck. I could see how this would flow into the both brands. Not a bad idea at all, just keep it away from being a real pick-up and add a lot of goodies.

I am neutral on the truck idea, but the rendering of the front of the G itself makes for a great car... i hope this is how the G SUV looks, and i am sure that if MB makes a truck, it will be one helluva truck
