Nice. It still looks like a Lambo without the roof... so many supercars look poor when the roof is chopped off.

06-13-2005, 03:07 AM
So where does the roof goes? is it like a ferrari design, that hide it between the engine and the seats?

06-13-2005, 03:11 AM
I want 2 - one to drive, and the other to put in my living room...

06-13-2005, 03:16 AM
Absolutely not.
The Ferrari Fioravanti sistem needs, in it's semplicity, room for the rigid roof and so it is adapt on a front engine cars.
On the Murcielago there is no room for any kind of roof, both textile or rigid: the motor does not leave space.
Probably the Gallardo will have (like the Murcielago) a small emergency cap, in black tissue, that the driver must mount manually in the misfortunate case rain start to fall.

06-13-2005, 04:49 AM
When you purchase a $400 000 V10, two seat roadster, practicality flies out the window, wo I don't give a damn about the roof.

06-13-2005, 05:17 AM
Im suprised no one has used this yet...
The roof makes it look, well, no where near as good!

06-13-2005, 07:02 AM
It looks amazing! *jaws refuse to close* Not sure if many potential buyers would have it though?
On second thought maybe yes, none actually have it as a sports car but rather as a showoff tourer.

It looks great, and it brings back memories of the great Ferrari Mythos!

06-13-2005, 10:19 AM
Looks great, another potential gumballer car. lol

06-13-2005, 10:20 AM
It looks great, but if it would have been like the concept, it would have been awsome

Changes?
-Rear shoulder intake is clearly larger
-Front bumper? I cant tell, looks to have more of a lip.
-obviously wheels
-updated engine (530-550hp)
-hopefully some changes to the rear (never been a fan of the current rear)

Still waiting for a picture of the rear.. I hope its changed
We all know a truly "updated" Gallardo Coupe is coming out 2nd half of 2006.. I'm starting to think this Cabrio will not have any of the visual changes, obviously not, the front is the same as the coupe (it better have the engine change).
I still think it would be STUPID for Lamborghini to have an All New "updated" Roadster on the market while the Coupe stays behind in both the "old" styling, and "old" engine.
It makes sense to me if Lamborghini sells this "current" Roadster for 1 year(all current coupe styling).. that Gives them time to release the "updated" Coupe in Fall 2006, give the Coupe a little lead time on popularity.. orders, the desire to have the new engine, new styling.. then 6 months later, Spring 2007, release the "Updated" Roadster..
They already have all the Coupe front and rear body parts.. so it wouldnt cost Lamborghini anything to just put on the new "Coupe" Parts after they've released the coupe.. That goes for the new engine also.. If they still have current parts.. and if they're going to build the new parts for the updated Coupe.. they can really do what they want, when they want, with this new Roadster.. doesnt cost them a dime, everythings hand built anyways.

Not that great looking, but most Italian supercar convertibles aren't. It doesn't look bad though. I doubt it will look good with it's top up though. It still seems like with all the money they make off of these that they could at least put an automatic top on it.

06-21-2005, 02:10 AM
wow!this looks better than the coupe!
i was kinda hoping for a reworked concept s,but this will do nicely...just worried about rigidity and torsional stiffness.....
which reminds me...the only lambo roadster with higher rigidity compared to its coupe twin is the diablo roadster!

06-21-2005, 02:14 AM
this has an auto top.1/3 of the car(rear)lifts outwards;the roof stows away, then the rear closes again.(ala miura rear hatch)

06-21-2005, 11:09 AM
I wonder if this car will have a similar structural frame mounted above the engine.. like in the Murcielago Roadster.

This car was born to be without a roof! I've considered myself more of a ferrari person beacuse i love the sound of it's engine and i think it's designs pull alot on its heritage without going retro, but this particular lambo and the murc roadster would have me reconsider where loyalties lie. I haven't been much of a fan of the lambo design as of late because it just seems that lak that ostenatiousness that has come to define Lambos (remember those frickin' huge spoilers! ) Today's design seem a bit tame, blocky, and pedestrian in comparison. It lacks the flow the Miuras, Countach, and to slightly, lesser extent, the Diablo had. But it could also be fact that alot of other cars of pulled alot from Lambos design (e.g. Saleen S7, Paganis, etc.) thus become diluted. But these roadsters...wow
PS: I've heard that the V10 in the Lambo aren't as pleasing to the ear as an befitting its stature, can some confirm or deny that since i haven't heard it. I've heard the V12 in the Murc and almost wet myself
