Akita Motors Corporation of Korea is undergoing major changes to simplify the vehicle lineup they have had for over 5 years now.
The lineup consists of the base vehicle, the microcar C9, the economy car C11, the midsize sedan C13, and a sports car called XST 4.0.
Very little has changed for the last few years, as the company has undergone severe financial issues. But now, they are back, and will be once again documenting themselves on CarSpyShots.
A second-generation C9 is on its way, but first a new C11 sedan, a refreshed C13, and a refreshed XST are on their way.
Akita no longer makes SUV's or trucks.
Stay Tuned.

"In the news"
Wednesday, August 31, 2005
Akita Motors Co. announced today that the XST 4.0 sports coupe is to be redesigned. The car, which debuted a little more than two years ago, is to be thoroughly revised. We have often referred to the current model as an impostor supercar it does a very good job at pretending to be a much more expensive vehicle. The old model drew influences (heavily) from cars such as the McLaren-Mercedes SLR and Lexus SC430.
We hear that the new model will have the same 4.0 V8 but with a little more torque and a lot more power. A larger engine is a possibility. The styling will be very similar to the new Jaguar XK (2007) and Lexus new supercar, the LF-A, which is still on its way. These are the two cars that Akita felt pressure from, and as the new boss of Akita said in an interview, We werent planning on redesigning the XST. It was a one-off. However, we feel like its model life has been very short and that a second try would be nice. We have few options because Jaguar and Lexus are moving in on us with their new sports vehicles. Montgomery AG, another increasingly popular brand could have its own super sports car soon, according to rumour.
The new XST will debut as a 2007 model. The convertible will be dropped from the lineup.
-Associated Press

okay, by the look of things, the new C11 is going to be similar to the 2007 Hyundai Elantra and the new Honda Civic... I hadn't seen the photos of those until now, but that is what you can expect...

You are still a much better drawer than I, but then again, architecture is what I do better...
I mentioned your company in the news article I made :) Didja see it?
Anyways, on the flip side, I wasn't so thrilled about your comments about me on HyundaiTalk, but whatever, I guess I forgive easily.
Anyways, all I can say is that the new C9 and the C11 are already well into their reworkings... the C13 and XST are a ways away.
The XST supercar's facelift is definitely the project to get excited about, here. Stay tuned.

well, someone told me you did something rather rude to the mods/admins, and i was still pissed off about you ditching the city car JV (it's too late to keep working on it too, i have an independently-designed city car coming out in less than 2 weeks). yeah i saw montgomery mentioned im actually considering a supercar for shannon or avioli, but nothing's official yet...

Quote, originally posted by AkitaMotorsCorp »

You are still a much better drawer than I

thanks lol i just have alot more experience (i've been drawing cars as long as i remember), so if you work at it you'll improve alot.

I have many creative IDEAS, however. I have posted really crappy sketches and been complimented on the DESIGN part of the car- just not the drawing haha
Well I am still thinking about doing a city car. The C9 is a microcar currently, but may bulk up when its redesigned... so that would definitely leave a gap.
I will post some of my older sketches... I haven't designed any cars for awhile really, until now, but I am brimming with ideas for Akita vehicles!!! I will post some older drawings below- some are really old, so no making fun of me, okay?

This photo is a tad more than the size that we are allowed to post, but from here on, I will post links... is this okay? I just want people to see something in this thread on page 1 that is actually a car design.

By the way, the thread on the new Mercedes CL has caught my attention and I am wondering if I may create a luxury coupe alongside the new XST called the XSR, too.

i think you should at least post pictures of the current lineup, just so we can see what the next-generation cars are replacing
p.s. you seem to have gotten six years younger i believe...weren't you 24 when you were on the old CSS?

i actually don't have the photos of the current line-up on this computer, but to be honest, CSS seems to have gone down the tubes, and I don't really have the time to draw cars anymore.
ttyl though,
-akita

how has CSS gone down the tubes? it seems just as good as ever to me, but i'm sure you'd care to elaborate and you still haven't answered my question pertaining to how you managed to get 6 years younger.

and i've tried to be nice to you, akita, but that clearly hasn't done anything. i don't regret at all saying what i said on hyundaitalk, because you are, frankly, a jerk. there, i said it. you blew me off on the city car project, after i kept working to make my interior design fit your "demanding specifications", while you never did your end of the deal (designing the exterior, and i bet you would have done a worse job than i ended up doing on the iota anyway). this may seem a ridiculously miniscule problem to most people, but you don't know the magnitude of my obsession and dedication to my made up car company; it may be completely pointless and possibly stupid, yes, but i consider it a very important part of my life. a new montgomery, shannon or avioli to design will take priority over almost anything going on in my life, with the exceptions of some family problem, serious injury, death, or an important homework assignment. you just ditched the JV like it was nothing. i should be thanking you for it, since i ended up with a better car design in the end, but i'm still irritated about it. and after i finally voiced what i thought about you and your attitude, you think i'm the one who owes you an apology. well, you've got it screwed up real bad, i'm afraid.
you're the one who owes an apology here, to the entire forum in general (for insulting it), and to me (for the reasons above) and anyone who helped create CSS in the first place in particular. and you owe an apology to the rest of the moderators and administrators too, of course, since, as santeno said, they let you come back after being a complete ass. mods, you can delete this if you think i went overboard, which i probably did, but this is personal

Akita hasnt the right to talk about anything anyone has done, dont let him bother you; children will be as they are.
Tho it takes still to lose 12 years of age, change occupation 3 times and fly to south africa in 3 hours from canada while being able to keep the same IP address during the entire affair. :)
