SOunds great. Not to surprising tho. I had it in mind and were expecting it. Somehow, it looks abit unfinished, but they are spy-photos, so lets hope the final car will look great, as I am sure it will. Can't wait to see them on the street. :D

03-30-2005, 02:45 PM
Woah!!!!!. That is awsome.

03-30-2005, 03:09 PM
Those wheels are so big they make this thing look brutish and overbearing. Must say though, the regular 6er, with smaller wheels, looks very exotic.

03-30-2005, 03:58 PM
SICK!!!! I love this car. I must have it

03-30-2005, 05:43 PM
can you afford one?

03-30-2005, 06:30 PM
check out the wheels..damn, huge..

03-30-2005, 10:28 PM
I don't think they are any bigger than in the regular M6

03-31-2005, 04:03 AM
indeed, I think it's because it's a cabrio that they look bigger.
Certainly looks amazing already

Expect the new M6 cabrio to make it's world debut at this Septembers IAA Frankfurt . The M6 Cabrio will of course take the fight to AMG SL's both 55 and 65 - BMW seeing the M6 as more car for less than the SL65 .
The structure has been developed to handle the power and the loss of the roof is no major concern. The tin top maybe the preferred choice but Powerful cabrios including the SL55 are very popular with female clients who go for performance and open air driving.
And what better to hear than roar when the roof is down .

In its finished form, the car will wear the same 19in alloy wheels and aero kit as the coup, and use the same V10 engine and seven-speed sequential gearbox.
However, the coups signature carbonfibre roof will be replaced by multilayered folding canvas that stows electrically in 20sec, and at up to 20mph. Autocars sources suggest that the M6 Convertible could weigh 1900kg, compared with the coups 1710kg. Its likely to be tuned for a much less hardcore demeanor than the coup, featuring slightly less aggressive suspension, gearbox and engine calibrations, and accelerating to 62mph in just over 5.0sec. Expect it cost around 85,000.
If your M6 has to be the fastest of the family, youll want to wait for the CSL, not due until 2007. The M-division is currently experimenting with a lightweight body and lower suspension set-up, and there are rumours of a 50bhp power boost for the car.

source: autocar

why cover side mirrors?

04-14-2006, 11:14 AM
I'm not sure, but I do think there was also tape on the frontbumper and reardifusor but that they ps'd it away, mirrors just don't matter.

If you are worried about chassis rigidity and the lack of a CF roof do not be : The Cabrio also makes use of CF reinforcement with carbon fibre use in the crossframes - This is not only lightweight but adds greater rigidty making the car as rigid as the Coupe and not affecting the Cabrio's overall performance and dynamics as much.
