Perhaps I'm jumping the gun, but I was just checking out the trailer for THE ISLAND, and just a little more than 3/4 into the preview you see a quick shot of a car. This car resembles the Cadillac Cien but is in fact slightly different. http://www.apple.com/trailers/....html
Here it is:

Now compare this image to the concept:

There are striking similarities between the images. In the screen shot of the movie trailer, the front lights of the car are "stepped" as in the concept, the air vents are similar shapes, and so is the windowline. However, this is not the concept because the rear air vents besides the door do not touch up against the doors as in the concept. I thought Lutz wasn't going ahead with the Cien, but maybe this movie will premiere a halo product for Cadillac.

Wow, if this is for real I would be really surprised.

I'm sure it's as real as Will Smith's Audi in I, Robot. This is either a fiberglass mockup on a rolling chassis or its CG.
But if it were real,

If I recall correctly the cien is not intended for production. Like neburg said, it's probably a mock-up or the show car being used to advertise the show.

Here's another pic from the film:

Like people said it's probably just a special mockup. The movie takes place in the future so they wanted futuristic looking cars. There is also a cool looking Dodge Magnum in the trailers, also modified...

It may just be the concept version.
I doubt they would make ths production without anyone knowing or having a clue.

the cien is such a badass car...it would be so cool if it were to make it to production, but highly unlikely...it is like the audi from I Robot

Driveable concepts such as the Cien are often used in movies. GM frequently hires out vehicles from it's collection, both classic models and futuristic concepts. Pre-production models also regularly feature in movies (Cadillac CTS in the Matrix, E-Class in MIB2).

It just could be a replica, just like the Cobras in the new XXX movie.
Dan

do anyone know what happened to the Chrysler ME Four Twelve car.....why it just disappear.

It was not a good case for profitiability. With major losses and uncertain company solvancy, they backed away from it and put their effort into the firepower! concept of detroit 05.

I believe this may be a fiberglass movie car based on something else. Hollywood suppliers around here can make any car (or more accurately, a similar-looking facsimile) on a moment's notice. They did the same thing with Ford's "new Cobra" for a movie recently: It was just a fiberglass body over a repli-cobra chassis used for stunts and action sequences.

with the star wars movie there was a preview for the island in which this car appears. it looks very good and fast in the preview even though they show it exploding and flipping all over the place on a highway

could it be the new caddy rumored coupe, aimed at the bently
on motor trend it states

Quote »

...the 515-horsepoer W-12 powered Conti GT is on of Bob Lutz, personal benchmarks. he thinks a 160,000 coupe's combination of supercar performance and traditional luxary is a winning formula that caddy could emulate for less money. Not everyone in Detriot agresses: They're not ure a $120,000 cadiliac is a viable propostion yet, they're reluting to commit a V-10 or V-12 engine that Lutzs says the car needs.....Engineers are working so a seadan to complete with the S and &, so the chasis may be used for the new ULS platform, the zeta, being produced at Holdens subsidary in Austrillia......Lutzs wants 500-600 horsepower and he doesnt think an 8 clyinder can help with that. THe quad-cam, all aluminum 7.5 liter Northstar V-12 used in the Cien would be the choice and easly able to produce 750 horsepower and 450 pounds feet.

That would be outrageous if this materializes! A sad thing... and I hope I'm wrong, I heard somewhere that this project was on hold in effort to curb expences. Maybe that's temporary, but I hope it's not shelved. That would be another great image builder for GM & Cadillac!

Dont look for any kind of ULS vehicle from Caddy untill late 2009/2010. Even then it might not happen.

It would be cool to see the Cadillac ULC at the New York Show next month, although I highly doubt we will.
