This is kinda boring to be honest, but since we discuss every spy shot/car here, I thought I share the pics I recently took. They show the new MB sprinter, I believe it gets a redesign sometime this year. Caught the convoy on the Autobahn coming back from up North:

Thanks for the pics skoochy. I do wonder if DCX will import the facelfited one as well to NA, or start building the facelifted model ehre as a dodge, or do they already do that?

If Autolies jacks them they have a problem with my lawyerS..
I dont have Photoshop or anything to put a watermark on, maybe a mod can take them down, watermark them and put them back up?

Why should they copy them? Those are only mules. The real Prototypes are looking totally different. So these pics are more or less useless... sorry.

Thanks GHPixx..
Why would you say something like that? These are obviously not the most exciting cars ever, but they are clearly camoflaged prototypes to test something. They were on their way South from Pappenburg. You might see different prototypes up North, but please be more polite in your remarks and treat everybody with a little more respect.

Sorry skootchy if that sounds a bit impolite t you. But I didnt mean it that way. We saw pictures of the real prototypes in the net and in this way I think it makes no sense to post pics of old cars again and again.
If we would do that every thread would have more than 50 sites. And this is what we dont want, do we?
And the real prototypes (prototype and mule is a big difference) are also driving around in germany, not only in northern sweden. Expecially in stuttgart...so you must have seen them.

No hard feelings here GHPixx, I know you didnt mean it the way you wrote it. I only saw another Sprinter prototype once, and it did look like the ones on the trailers in my pics. If you have pics or know where pics are, post some of the real prototypes!

i occasionally drive a freightliner sprinter (not sure what wheelbase, but it is the longest with the raised roof) belonging to my business, and it is the first work "van" that i've not dreaded driving. the engine and transmission are smooth, it doesn't guzzle petrol like the old ram van it replaced in the fleet, and it is incredibly easy to drive.

The flashing on the chart rearview mirror? It is a zone to high risk of damage for a commercial veichle

VW and MB collaborated on this unit, fact or rumor? I believe the different faces could be MB and Dodge.

Since VW and MB have collaborated on this unit, and since MB offers this vehicle in North America as Freightliner/Dodge, does anyone know if VW plans to also introduce the LT into North America?
Also, I've heard many rumors about Ford bringing their Transit Van over hear (North America), the current model (Econoline) is due for a re-design, does anyone have any insight to this?
The current North American Vans are all due for a change, and MB seems to be taking the lead. I feel this is the start to many changes for this type of vehicle.

VW in North America is busy trying to move up-market and is cultivating a comparable image (not entirely succesfully yet, I must add). Thy do not have lower end models or commercial models in the US. Don't confuse commercial full size vans and their passenger variants with the very large, passenger only, "mini" vans. DCX has long been the market leader in minivans. It is highly doubtful that they will share opne of their cash-cow vehicles with another automaker. I'd be more willing to believe that they would make a variant for another brand within DCX (kind of like the MB GST and the Chrysler Pacifica) - not just a grill swap like they currently do with Dodge - before believing any rumor that claims that they will sell minivans to another automaker.
As for their full size commercial vans, If I recall correctly The Chrysler group had been trying to get out of the business for a while and hadn't replaced their ageing vans in for ever. The way I heard it, Dodge only began selling the Sprinter only after DCX tried selling a few through freightliner to commercial fleets. It was the success of those sales that led them to expand the program to dodge (who has deeper market penetration than freightliner).
Ford has publilcly stated their intent to exit the minivan market in North America, so I doubt they'll be importing anny from over seas (at least not under the Ford Brand). their commercial vans do rather well, as far as I know, so again, I can't imagine them importing commercial vans from their over seas operations, especially smaller ones. But then again, who knows.
