Hey whats up guys? Its been a few months since I got disconnected from the world and just today I finally recieved my DSL modem. Now im getting 1.5mbps connection and I am so happy its a huge difference from 56kps.
Well let me get to the point, about a month ago I took a small trip to the adelaide hills just to get some photos for a design assignment that I have for school. This was probably the first time in my life I have ever taken my digi camera along with me in the car. Well what do you know, as I was driving back home I spotted a camoed car and started chasing it! You would not believe how excited I was!!! For the first time in my life I take the camera with me and I spot a camoed car. I even managed to take good photos. It was simply luck, there is no other explanation for it. (By the way If anyone is from SA, I first spotted the car on Main North Road right next to cash converters driving up twords the city.)
I live in Adelaide South Australia. Not much happens around here. In our state we produce holdens for national and international export as well as mitsubishi's. It is nearly impossible to spot one of their preproduction cars. At first I though that this is the new Mitsubishi Magna (which some say will be called Galant) replacement that is due later this year and I tried selling the photos to the Advertiser, SA's major newspaper. I explained my situation to a few people over the telephone but I had no luck. They told me that they already had photos of it from a week before I called them up.
Several days ago I was visiting autoweek.com at the local library and saw the new Lexus IS300 in their Geneva section. I now know that the pics that I took were not that of a Magna instead that they were of the all new Lexus IS300. But knowing this brings up the question of why are they testing new Lexus's in a sh** hole like SA? I mean the weather is not harsh, I simply can't think of a reason. I know that the car has already been revealed and that these photos are outdated but I just thought that I should share this with all of you because it is one of those things that can happen to you only once in a lifetime, especially if you live in Adelaide.
Enjoy....

Modified by AXLE at 10:20 AM 3/8/2005

Yeah sorry about that I am thinking too fast for my fingers to type, I think that for now it is just being called the IS series.

(which I agree with). I suppose that its good that the rest of the car is good enough that they're just harping on the mirrors.

that is freaking awesome...thanks for the pictures
those are the first Lexus spy shot i have ever seen before it has been introduced
that's so cool
Wow Lexus does a real good job at keeping its cars covered...at least now i know they test in australia like a lot of other car manufacturers
those rims must be for the IS350
they did a great job by covering up the back, but the front is a little obvious because of the grill.
GREAT JOB AXLE!!!!!!!!

Great find Axle. The fact that the car was introduced already at Geneva doesn't make these spy shots any less signicant. Maybe Toyota are testing in Adelaide because all the spy photogs are camped outside Toyota's factories or proving grounds.
I spent some time in Perth, Australia this past year. I imagine Adelaide would be similar? What a beautiful country. Maybe the Toyota test drivers wanted a vacation as well.

The only thing that SA has got going for it is its universities and schools, thats just about it.

Huh, wonder if that 3er in front is with the IS, or just coincidence. Anywho, rare indeed. Great pics.
I have to say it looks rather good in these pics, almost like the GS looks better in life. Almost reminiscent of a 3er glasshouse.
