thanks, but it's basically just a pic. of the LF-C concept and they added an extra door to one of them
the other picture in the other link is a pic. of the Toyota X-body (see new cars section)
thanks though...it's interesting

if toyota wants to sell an Lexus IS in Japan, it CanT look like the popular Mark-X already onsale there
same chassis, however

thegriffon
01-07-2005, 07:13 PM
Not quite. The IS will use a shorter platform slightly larger than the current Brevis/Progres (the LF-C previewed the platform more than the styling). The Mark X uses the same platform as the GS Series and Crown.

Enough of the Mark X crap. IS is not going to look like that in anyway. Remember it has to aim for sporty not lazy.

While Toyota uses similar/"same" platforms for many cars, nothing that "matters" is the same - we have platforms that are the "same" but have different wheelbases, different powertrain, completly different suspensions and of course that has nothing to do with interior/exterior at all... etc, etc...
IS is going to be engineered to be IS. It is not going to be rebadged, and it is not going to be using some other car's chasis...

The IS will introduce Lexus' first diesel engine, which just proves how dedicated they are to go into the European market.

I have the opposite opinion. The front end look great (albeit a tad low), tying in the family resemblence with the GS. The rear on the other hand...those rear lights are weird - they almost look like they could be the headlights!

Just had this months CAR magazine drop through the door with 3 pages of official IS250 pictures. It looks amazing…. watch out BMW Merc et al. Exterior sleek with a unique style (handsome unique not challenging unique) Interior is an “interesting” mix of wood and aluminium – not my cup of tea – lets hope there will be a choice of all aluminium or at least a black wood. This should shake up the compact executive class a bit.

If its a photoshop it is the best I ve ever seen plus there is a shot of the interior and an interveiw with Lexus Vice president. You can see light reflecting off the rear lights. The number plate reads New IS -- which is kind of Marketing Speak - most photoshops show IS250. I think they are real -- just wish I had a scanner.
