should be near the saab 9-3 in size, early talk was that this would be europe only, but thats doubtful

01-04-2005, 02:28 PM
That would be great if they made that, but it looks a bit smooth and rounder for a Caddy

I thought they weren't gonna do a caddy like this.

Its sized between the 3 and the 5, but competes more with the 3 series.

obvious chop, but ohh so nice

01-05-2005, 04:56 AM
Here in Holland the CTS never got to compete with the 5 series due lack of quality.. It had to compete with the 3 series from the first time here since it had been introduced..
But ok.. I know.. this is Holland.. where everyone smokes weed and stuff..
I like this car though.. please please send it across the ocean..

they haven't even came out with a BTS/BLS or a name, and they are already talking about supercharged versions...haha

Enough of the alphabet soup!
Nice interior, but exterior sucks coz there is no curve whatsoever
So is this based off the Saab 9-3?
I would never buy it over a Saab and GM need to stop w/ their attack of the clones!

02-13-2005, 05:27 PM
wow, thats so bland looking. It doesnt look sharp enough for a caddy. They could have done better.

02-13-2005, 05:30 PM
The small Cadillac for Europe will definitely be called BLS.
Caddilac is going to show a concept at Geneva, I opened a new topic in the "Concept-Cars" section.

02-13-2005, 05:47 PM
I had no idea it was official yet...wow
interesting...they're not bringing it to the US as of now, right?
i thought the car was just finalized for making...i dind't know they already had a design

02-13-2005, 07:46 PM
So that where the money for the SAAB 9-3 facelift went...
Good job though GM... surprisingly not SAAB looking.

02-14-2005, 06:26 AM
If they don't bring it to the United States they are complete fools.

02-14-2005, 06:56 AM
TCC calls it the BLS as well.
I thought that stood for British Leyland Sucks....oops
This sounds like a sure thing, but when? 06-07? It took GM years to get the Monaro/GTO the Record to Catera converted for the US.
They can't afford to provide out of date cars in any market, esp the Euro market.
GM announced a while ago that Saab was going to assemble Cadillacs so this sounds like the vehicle.
02-14-2005, 09:25 AM
It won't be coming here, unless there is some drastic change in GM's policy. It goes against all of GM's plans for Cadillac, not to mention its risking a lot of the brand's reputation that it has just recently been able to rebuild.

02-14-2005, 09:26 AM
If they try to sell that thing (BLS) in Europe... I can see them packing their bags and going back to US pretty soon.....
Was this car inspired on DAEWOO Nubira ???

02-14-2005, 02:18 PM
The reason why I think it does't have the sharpness of a cadillac is because it is probably going to be cheaper, and it SMALL.

02-15-2005, 05:38 PM
people, don't get mad when I say this, but I lke the lines on that cadillac, I think it's a alternative to the the current theme of caddy, I have nothing against the current theme, but times are changing.

02-16-2005, 01:22 AM
Seen from France, all these new Cadillacs seem to be twin sisters, proposed in different sizes ...
as far as this BLS is concerned, it' s clearly a cheap remake of the Saab 9.3 (same doors ... with some black plastic around the rear door to disguise it !!!! (incredible that !)) ... same dashboard (event the dials !!!!) ...(ok there is a new console)
A new badge and grille, the bulky rear bumper and cad'lights fail to disguise this low-investment maquillage ....
This car is what the Alfa 155 and Lancia Dedra were in the 90's .... A classy ans cheap maquillage based on a far less classy base ... the Fiat Tempra ... Fiat failed and noone was fooled by the trick ...
To my view, someone who buys a Cadillac in Europe chooses it for it's personnality, in order to drive something different, distinctive.. this man is what we can call a "connoiseur" ... Cadillac think they can fool this individualistic driver ?.....
You, guys , have my answer !
Just one last thing...i see very few 9-3s in the strets....

It reminded me of "bull****", and that what it is. But I can see why GM is taking advantage of this platform since it's lead the 9-3 to to be first-ever car to earn 5 stars in side and frontal crash testing. GM is just killing Saab. props to Ford for keeping their brands apart as they are now . Is this the first Cadillac to have a Turbo?

02-16-2005, 06:45 AM
If they were to send it here as the BTS-V with a hot turbo and market it as a sport sedan with some attitude, it would slip nicely under the CTS allowing the next CTS to slide a few thousand up market.

GM has a lot more divisions to rebadge with, and most of them are in similiar segments. With Explorer platfrom reaching through (atleast) 4 SUVS and Trucks, they seem to be doing it for cost effective purposes. I cant really tell if that is what GM is doing as well, or if they are just making it so no matter what car you buy, they are all the same and all the money goes to GM

02-18-2005, 04:52 PM
Hey.. guys... you realise that this is the first step towards killing the SAAB brand...

02-18-2005, 05:48 PM
Wasn't the first step when they were aquired by GM?

02-19-2005, 04:55 AM
well... in Europe they call them DAEWOO Nubira... after all they made in Korea...
It looks a lot like the Cadillac BLS....

02-19-2005, 07:41 AM
I think the BLS looks quite good, but i wouldnt get it instead of a 9-3.

02-19-2005, 10:00 AM
Coming to the UK soon. Said to be very luxurious
