The left foglight on that chop looks really off. As for the car, meh.

Regarding the power output of this car, I wouldn;t worry too much about it because the SL55's power is too much and besides the cadillac would definitely be lighter, remember the standard XLR is about 200kg lighter than the SL500.
Thats just my opinion, the problem is people would be worried considering the cheaper corvette Z06 would have much more power. Marketing the car would be really hard.

With its plush interior, automatic transmition and foldable roof, i doubt the XLR will really be cross shopped between Z06 but i could be wrong.

Yes, it would be weird seeing these two cars in the same light. One is a more track-focused hardcore vehicle and the other is a more sedate, more 'European' performance model. And not to mention more luxurious.

I was kind of underwhelmed with the soft exterior treatment of the STS-V... I mean it was tasteful, but it didn't pop. The wheels, in particular, were a let down. I know they'll go low key with the XLR, as well, but I wish they could work a few AMG-esque touches in... a meaner lower fascia like the SL65, perhaps? and some killer wheels would be nice.

i wish i could remember which article it was, when the XLR was launched. i guess there's a tight clearence between the hood and the motor. they had some designer quoted saying "there would absolutely be no power bulge" on the hood.
i guess that doesnt apply to the v-series! or it was intended from the outset, to make the V more distinct.

I noticed that Cadillac has a site up called "Cadillac Under 5" (http://www.cadillacunder5.com) up now, I think it coincides with their Super Bowl Advertising. In the information section it has a couple teaser trailers for the XLR-V... it's pretty much impossible to see anything, but it's fun to try.
Please excuse the cheesy John Travolta intro.

Wicked power bulge on the hood! I'm a little disappointed with the rims, though. also (sorry for double posting, but this goes in another direction from my last post) but if you notice John Travolta is at the super bowl (since it appears he is the new spokesman for Cadillac V-cars), and i remember last year the MVP won an XLR i think?, so maybe this year itll be the unveiling of the XLR-V, and maybe the MVp will win a V-series car (if he's really lucky it could be an XLR-V but doubt it) and the XLR-V unveiling very likely wont happen, but the pieces are there, adn who knows if theyll fit together.

The XLR-V was in one of their ads. (the tunnel as a gun ad). I was confused when I saw it, because I thought it hadn't been unveiled yet. But it was there..............
EDIT: I found the commercial online and did some screenshots; looks pretty cool if I do say so..............

i was sitting in my truck on my lunch, at the mall where i work, andi caught this xlr in the corner of my eye. it must have been the huge hood bulge that i saw. it was not badged a XLR-V but im gonna guess it is a test version of it, because of the manufacturers plate. when the guy got out of the car, he opened the hood, and im gonna guess he disabled something under ther. not really sure. but here are some pics of it.

I don't think that's it. The hood scoop was too big compared with the semi-official pictures that I got from the commercial.

I am certainly, certainly glad THAT hood didn't make it to the production version.... looks like those cheap, exaggerated RAM AIR scoops that guys put on their Trans Ams....

actually those old style cowl induction hoods of which you speak are generally used because of the addition of a supercharger/intake manifold/carburetor combination on old muscle cars...

The vast majority of them in Albuquerque, NM fall into the latter.
