This photo was taken from a dealer presentation of the upcoming New Beetle Facelift. It was taken on a camera phone. I'm not sure why it's so blurry. You can make out the new fenders which are more squared off, new bumper, and the turn signals intergrated into the headlights. It's said that it'll be in the U.S. market the Summer of 2005.

Its probably blurry as the person who took the picture was avoiding being caught!

...or its a bad chop job and they are covering up mistakes.
I think this is what the new Beetle should have looked like from day one.

They cannot change it much with the facelift, just like the Mini's facelift, very minor changes. Any word on any new engines?

I'll let you know when I find out more!

The turn signals are integrated to the headlights just like the Bentley Continental GT.

cell phone pictures are usually more blurry in the 4 corners. This picture seems to be uniformly blurry ...
Having said that, I believe that it is about time VW decides to update the Beetle. They learned a lesson from the Mini ... to make sure it does not look like a Girl's car. The current Beetle is.
I noticed most new Beetlessold are now with conservative colors. Dark Blue, silver ..etc.

Never mind a facelift... by the time this facelift comes the Mk4 Golf platform its based on will be seriously dated! Any plans to change to the better Mk5 platform, then we can have a drivers beetle! lol

VW needs to move the powertrain to the rear, lower the roof, make the windshield more upright ala old beetle, and offer a turbo 2.0l and bingo, a true beetle.
