I have the new Renault Vel Statis facelift. Im the only person in London to have a facelifted Vel Satis. Believe it or not.

Nope, didn't work. It's still ugly.
Is Renault even replacing this? With them bringing Infiniti into Europe, doesn't seem to make a lot of sense.

Sorry if i offended you. I hear it's a very nice drive, and Renault have their share of good looking cars. I even like the Avantime ( and know no one else who does ), but imo, Renault shot themselves on the foot with this one. The Espace is as good a top of the range as Renault will ever need ( with their name on it ).

You have not offend me in any way. People say the Vel Satis is ugly and the people. I luv the Avantime. They said it was a Coupe and MPV. I think its better suited as an MPV. I agree with you on that.

this facelift is so minor its pointless. facelifts are supposed to keep a car looking fresh, and keep the buyers coming in. most people won't even realise whether or not a facelifted model drives straight past them, and the buyers certainly don't seem to be coming in droves either.
the words "renault" and "luxury car" just don't go together. don't know why Pug, Opel/Vauxhall, VW, Renault, and now Citroen even bother trying - what a waste of money. Imagine how many poor people they could feed with the money they use to fund these sales flops. If you think that's unrealistic, then imagine how many sports cars the directors of the company could have if they used just a bit of the money they used to develop these cars to give themselves a bonus!

Instead, are intended to give a sample of the brand's capabilities. Maybe you wouldn't buy a Laguna if it was Renault's top of their range, but if they have something big and good like the VelSatis......well, that's a different story even if you don't like it. Then, maybe the Laguna is not that bad, it's just a question of psycology. It happens all the time in automotive industry.
To put it in other words. The 206 cc is not that profitable, but consider how many people buyed the regular 206 just because THERE WAS a 206 cc. I hope this makes sense to everybody.

I used to have Laguna by myself. Decent and chic car but Vel Satis...
That time Patrick LeQuement just went too far.
