it's a american design. but i guess its still hard to compete with Ford SUT..

Let's see now. Toyota, Nissan, and Dodge make thier entry truck tougher and more capable. Honda makes this...thing. The ad slogan should be "We know under every tough guy there is a woman inside." I would love to see a Dakota hooked to one side and a Frontier on the other and watch them pull this thing in half.
Honda, this skirt is for you.

It makes me scared to ask what the next Pilot will look like...
Honda, not everybody likes boxy, Element-like designs! If this is supposed to compete with the new Sport Trac, then I feel sorry for Honda.

Sport trac is still a truck. the only way this could be called a truck is that it has a bed. And that should be said VERY LOOSELY.

this thing is very ugly. i guess honda is more than satisfied with the element's sales, being that they designed this with the same stying cues. I'd take an Explorer SporTrac over this anyday, even as outdated as the ST may be...i'm sure people will buy it..they bought the element..and pontiac did sell azteks

So this is where all those ex-Aztec designers went to. And since Pontiac was finally ridiculed enough by the public and the media into getting rid of those tacky, juvenile gashes/streaks on the sides of its vehicles, why does Honda think it's cool to put them on theirs now? Ugly.

I'm surprised Honda would make something like this. They should have started out with a small, reliable pickup or something. Even if you don't care about "impressing" the neighbors, this thing will come closer to embarassing you. It looks like the body cladding that GM is trying to get away from is integrated into this things fenders. I can't see this being a winning design. But, I've been wrong before...

I think I just threw up a little....

This has got to be the stupedist idea Honda have ever come up with . Who would want a front wheel drive based unibody pickup? Honda, you have made a mistake. I am making a prediction now, there won't be a second generation of this vehicle. Honda will be forced to develop a true pickup platform with a FRAME and A V-8.

Problem with Honda is that they can not go outside themselves and listen. This looks bad, and it is bad idea, period.
Looks like old ISUZU

The back looks odd, but the front styling is actually kind of good looking. The rear end ruins it though.
My friend said his dad is already decided to get one, to replace an F250. They also have a Pilot. I asked him why he would go from an F250, and especially to one that he hasnt seen yet, and he said "Because its a Honda". That is really all Honda has going for it these days, and well Acura....

Honda might be brillant in some minds, but to me, they are totally out of their league here. To say they have no clue how to make a truck would be an understatement.

Yeah, Accords and Civics are reliable, affordable, and good cars overall. They serve their purpose and give the Honda H its respect. But this "truck" isnt going to be bought because its big, or powerful, or capable of towing big loads, BECAUSE IT WONT BE ABLE TO (Unless Honda is better at making trucks then we think, but as of yet, they have never made a truck or REAL suv). In the case of Honda Ridgeline, it will be bought because of the H on the front, and thats pretty much it.

True, but I really don't think people are that ignorant anymore. For most consumers, especially truck buyers, it's going to take a hell of alot more than an H to pull them away from their trucks. This thing isn't capable of doing that. If you ever see someone buying one, slap them and tell them to buy a real truck.

Well at some point every brand gets a turkey. I have a nagging feeling that by not paying attention to what people have been saying about this trucks styling, Honda might be getting ready for a very lonely Thanksgiving dinner.

i cant believe they kept the funky back end, what are they thinking?? What are they smoking!!!
10 months later- Honda Ridgeline takes top spot in compact pickups sales.
Its probably going to happen, unfortunately.
