Source: F1Racing
Mercedes have shown their interest to buy the rest of the McLaren shares the German press is suggesting. The team is currently owned by Mercedes (40%), Mansour Ojjeh (30%) and team principal Ron Dennis (30%). Mercedes motorsport chief Norberg Haug said it could be an option.
"There is an option to buy them indeed," Haug admitted to Motorsport Aktuell. "But there are no decisions taken to buy them. Of course if we would want to own a Formula One team ourselves the best option would be McLaren for us. There wouldn't be a better partner."

This new is really overdue, i've been expecting this since the SLR came out.
So they will have the regular mercs and AMG line up, then Maybach for ultra-luxury and McLaren for ultra-sports. Is that right?

Well, many people know the MB and Mclaren partnership from F1, so i say, buy Mclaren and keep doing the same thing like the SLR.
