Audi TT - 3.5 It doesn't do it for me. It's got an interior unworthy of the Audi logo, and its old. And FWD biased.
BMW 3 Series Coupe - 3.5 The Normal 3er looks better.
MazdaSpeed3 - 4.5 Incredible Performance, great looking car. Dulled only by the fact that it looks like a stanmdard Mazda 3, except for the exhaust that is so dodgy, it makes the whole car look like a 1990 Civic with body kits and ugly under-car neons.
Mini Cooper S - 4 One of the best driver's car's on earth just got better.
Saturn Sky Redline - 4 Finally a car worthy of competing with the MX5 - But its lacking a tad...
Volkswagen Eos - 4 Good looking, great quality, but the Golf looks and feels better, plust this is FWD, and I dislike that Idea.
HSV E-Series - 5 Superb handling, looks great, Interior is bloody awesome, all the dynamics and credentials BMW can't compete with, but at a terribly affordable price.
Modified by Superfresa at 8:16 PM 12/11/2006

Audi TT- 3.5 with only substantial hp for now at an audi pricetag, its not really bang for the buck.
BMW 3 series coupe-4 i think the sedan looks better too
MazdaSpeed 3-5 a 250 hp hot hatch for around 25k... ill take 2.
Mini Cooper S-4.5 a little too retro for my taste
VW Eos-3 pretty pricey for what you get
Saturn Sky Redline-3.5 one of the best looking cars to come out of GM in recent years that sadly probably has the same quality issues as the Aura. I also heard the transmission is a bit shoddy.

Mazdaspeed3 - 5
BMW 3-Series Coupe - 4
Saturn Sky Redline - 2.5
MINI Cooper S - 2.5
Audi TT - 2
Volkswagen Eos - 0.5
First off, i would hardly call the Eos a great deal. Youre essentially paying 28-45k for a restyled Golf with a retractable hardtop..the 207CC does the same thing cheaply (despite this, its build quality & relative performance is good); so the Eos unquestionable gets half a point. The BMW 3-Series Coupe, both 328i & 335i, makes 2nd place. The 328i for its standard xDrive AWD system & the 335i for its 300hp turbo engine, both for under 45k is absolutely marvelous. The Sky Redline, at 29k, is a great, light-weight machine that can outrun a BMW Z4 3.0si in a slalom, great styling to boot (so great it became an Opel & a Daewoo shortly after). The MINI is an extremely great buy, for 22k you are able to feel as if you are driving an autocross machine everyday; the Audi TT, great styling, however its packaging isnt much of a deal for what VW is asking its buyers to pay for it. The Mazdaspeed3 is the clear winner. At under 3200lbs, $23,000 & its 263hp 2.3L, its practically a steal
Guys lets include in a brief explanation for our choices if we can

Everyone, please modify your votes to include the HSV E-Series as we missed it when setting up the contest! Cheers!
- Super -

Audi TT - 5 (good all-arounder, pretty)
BMW 3 Series Coupe -4 (also a good all-arounder, but ugly--yet not interesting [which is unusual for BMW] Bangle's most boring creation yet?)
MazdaSpeed3 -4 (Excellent value, predictable styling--just another Japanese car with almond shaped head/tail lights)
Mini Cooper S -3 (expensive)
Saturn Sky Redline -5 (perception breaker)
Volkswagen Eos -3 (Can anyone spot the odd one out in this group? should have its own category)
HSV E-Series 4 (Good, but downside is, it's little too tacky for my taste)
i guess ill just put my e series vote here. but before i do does anyone know how much horsepower it has in relation to its price, but americanized?

12-17-2006, 08:42 PM
It's 307kW, which is 2 less than an Audi RS4 - So uhm... about 450bhp?
Price is compareable down here to a BMW 330 or a MB C Class.
Its a 6 Liter V8 RWD, 6 speed auto, With Magnetic Ride Control.

holy crap 450 hp at a 3 series price. if thats not bang for the buck....
ill give it a 4.5 because i think it needs bigger taillights and a new grille.

I believe 307kW works out to be just north over 411 bhp. IIRC, it uses the same LS2 as it is in the 'Vette.
Pricing ranges from just under 62,890 AUD (49,189 USD) to 76,990 AUD (60,218 USD), nearly equivalent to the 323i - 325i in the local market
