This time up, I dont want people voting randomly because many could not even read. So voting will be done by POSTING which Truck You are going to Vote for.
Do It like this:
- Give 3 points to the truck that you think deserves to be CSS's 2005 TOTY
- Give 2 points to your second option
- Give 1 point to your third option.
^^ This is all to minimise bias and give the trucks a price as objective as possible.
Vote according to the following:
- Importance and contributions to the industry How important is this truck for the automotive industry or for the brand? Is it an interesting truck or will it make a revolution in its segment or hold an importance for the manufacturer?
- Bumper to bumper How well does it match up to the other vehicles in its segment? Is it marginally better or does it set a new standard?
- Heritage Doe sthe truck have to live up to a name and reputation? Is it building its own reputation? Furthermore, will the truck be remembered in 20 years.
Try to vote for a truck that is outstanding in these areas, not a truck you like. Happy voting!

_____________________
Nominees:
Honda Ridgeline:
Importance: It is the company's first truck, and Honda want to prove capable.
Quick Technical Specs:
3.5 Liter V6, 255bhp, 245 lb/ft torque
5 speed auto
Variable Torque Split 4X4 system, 4 Wheel independant suspension and rear diff lock.

________
Mitsubishi Raider:
Importance: Mitsubishi's return to the Truck/ute market, with a formula that can't go wrong, or Mitsubishi could go bust. 3 points for the controversial Honda Ridgeline. Not a big fan myself, but as Superfresa pointed, this isn't a beauty contest (which can get very subjective ). Like it or not, this new entry from Honda re-writes the truck segment; its unique innovations provide much convenience for truck buyers and the edge needed to go ahead of the competition.
(Superfresa, do we have to include a paragrah for the 2nd and 3rd place as well?)
2 points for the Mitsubishi Raider.
1 point each for the Lincoln Mark LT & Toytota Tacoma/Hilux

No paragraph at all, unless you want to thank me for spending the last hour gathering pictures and information to make this as un-biased as possible
No look, if you can give your explanations, all the better, but if you dont care about giving some cars an explanation, just vote
And Knicks, I'm afraid you will have to decide wether the Lincoln or the Tpypta gets your last vote. Superfresa, I too echo the others' complements: nice work.
3 points: Honda Ridgeline
2 points: Toyota Tacoma/Hilux
1 point: Lincoln LT
I am curious, though, as to why the Nissan Frontier and Dodge version of the Raider, the Dakota, don't appear as options -- seeing as they were new for '05 as well. One of the reasons is that it would change my listing order if the Nissan was added to the mix (and drop the Lincoln entirely): Honda > Nissan > Toyota.
Mike
______________

Ok guys here we go:
Mickya'el: I had a nominees thread that went through two weeks so that this wouldn't happen. I left it for ages to give everyone a chance. The cars that weren't nominated, are regarded as not important enough for this years TOTY, since nobody cared to nominate them.

Phaeton, unluckily, TOTY is meant for trucks as americans know them. That is, pickup trucks. Unluckily full size, 3 axle lorries cannot compete with small 1 ton pickups and hence your nominee was not included.
Ford_Rules, if you had cared to read the other thread's replies, you would've noticed that the Ford F350 was disqualified since it appeared in 2004 and competed in last years TOTY awards.
Knicks125: Thanks for your help with the COTY set up

3- Ridgeline
2- Tacoma
1- Raider
The Ridgeline is unique, its something the likes of which just aren't seen in the rest of the truck market. The Tacoma is a beast of a truck and truly the most credible truck of this contest, as the others are just rebadges and soft-roaders. The Raider gets the final points because at least its a unique rebadge.

I'll be indipendent and give this the lemon award, to be honest none, not one, of these trucks deserve this award. Sorry, but while the Ridgeline may be signifigant for Honda, it does nothing for me, and it doesn't really excell much. The closest one I think deserving is the Tiyota Hilux, but even still I think it doesn't deserve the award. It is just too plasicly now, and it can't handle off road like the old one. Never even herd of the Mitsubishi Raider, the Lincoln is just a tarted up Ford, and wel thats it. Sorry guys, none of these deserve my vote.

Fordrules, just stop it. Dont be biased to Fords only. I, myself like the Honda Ridgeline. It;s Honda's first attempt and it's being praised my many. Ford's been buildin trucks since the 50's and it's great. This is starting to irritate me. Sorry if I'm too harsh or biased to Hondas. I personally own a Honda ( and a mazda5 zoom zoom).
3-Honda Ridgeline (not Fridgeline)
2-Toyota Tacoma (Great)
1-Mitsubishi Raider (Looks to me like a Dakota with Mitsubishi logo, but deserves at least a point)
