View Full Version : Cadillac Escalade - Glimpse of possible V variant

Well, once again a heavily disguised mule rolled through our service bays.
I work for a GM dealer here in Northern Nevada and we had what appeared to be an next-gen Escalade or Super-Nice Yukon stop by our service department for about 40 minutes today. I wasn't allowed to shoot pics obviously but a few of the senior techs got to check it out close.
The interior looked very similar to the Envoy Denali, according to one guy and the doors had that "software" switch like the XLR on the outside - with fixed handles(?!?!). Weird. Looked much lower than the current models but the same length. Another detail that we noticed was the grille appeared to have the cool mesh design of the CTS-V and STS-V! You could see that it was painted black but it was mesh for sure.
It was in and out quick but we are all rabid to see it now! Can't wait.

Thanks for the great info. Keep a sharp eye out for it and see if it comes back. So do you think Cadillac is preparing a V-Spec version of the escalade?

there have been a lot of rumors floating around for it...I believe some rumors stated the use of a newly designed cadillac V-10, similar to the LS7...

Are they trying to deplete our oil resources or what?

they aren't doing it, consumers are...and the northstars and LS engines actually get very good gas mileage...but I find your comment funny coming from a guy with a Durango as his avatar...

Well, somone else saw this tester "Escalade V" as we now call it. It was further east in Yerington, and it was said to have "A hell of an exhaust note". The mesh grille was also visible as they took off the front mask! Must have been heading south to Las Vegas or something. We see them all the time. We saw the New Ranger, a revised Boxter, a two-door Liberty (with quaint "Cherokee" badges and side-repeater lamps!), the new Ram and a few more. They do cold-weather testing up here on new vehicles quite often. Just recently, I saw another mule, probably the revised Expedition or Territory or whatever it's called running through Reno. Looks like they scaled it a bit to be the same dimensions as the Yukon/Tahoe. Damn they use a lot of camo!
-D
