"BMW's M version of the Z4 sports car lanches late this year as a 2006 model, concurrent with a facelift for the base Z4, which has suffered plummeting sales. it takes the high revving 3.3 liter straight-six of the current M3, while the next M3 switches to a 4.0 liter V-8 derived from the M5's V-10. The Z4M probably will take manual and SMG sequential transmissions, but, at 343 horsepower, it'll be overshadowed by the 367hp Mercedes SLK55 AMG. With its facelift, the Z4 gets BMW's excellent new lightweight Valvetronic magnesium-block 3.0 liter six, rated 258 hp. The 2.5 liter six remains the standard engine." -MT
why are they ditching the M-Roadster name?

they might have gotten the extra hp by bore/strokin it to 3.3 but that seems like a very pointless displacement increase right?? so im sure it was just a misprint but u never know
also, the M3 engine is only 4cc's away from being a 3.3 liter
