It's sad when the winners give the keys back to Regis.

i dont see why they would...the SV6 is a nice van, and although some people may not dig the exterior that still doesnt detract from the fact that it is a descent car...

It's hard to believe it's a decent car when it's basicly an 8 year old Chevy Venture
If I somehow recieved one of those vans, the first thing I would do with it would be sell it

after taxes and other expenses you could probably make 10,000 max with it and put it torwards a better car

not only you have to pay additional fees on the car (taxes, licenses, etc), you'd have to report the total value of the car as your income on your taxes
To the winner of the minivan, please please give Regis back the key, or sell it (so that you can take the money and pay your income taxes)
Stupid giveaway from Pontiac and GM, first the G6, now the Montana...I read that a lot of people who got the G6 didn't even have the money to pay for the taxes on the car, let alone paying for it on their income tax returns

I would love to have the problem of paying the sales tax and income tax on a new car. Think about it... more money means more taxes.
While it may be inconvenient to have to pay taxes on a new car... the car was free.
I have no sympathy for those folks.

You did gain 20,000 (not cash, just a car that's worth 20k), doesn't mean you have more money, but you have a car and you have to pay 6,000 of taxes (let's say you are in the 30% tax bracket)
the only way you would have more money is by getting rid of the car, who knows, with the Montana, you might get 6,000 (the money you are supposed to give to the IRS) and maybe with the little money that's left and pay your tax prepaper and your lawyer

so first Oprah, now regis? Is this GM's new way of gaining market share? Rather than make something people want to buy, just give away what they don't?
