I just got back from Albuquerque, NM on vacation and i decided to drive down Lomas Ave (a major street where there are an ass load of car lots) and at the Chevy dealer I almost passed out! An SSR was on sale for $15,000 off the sticker price. The discount fell to $13,000 by the time I left, but holy moley this is so sad.
Also while I had general service done and mud flaps added to my Rodeo at the Isuzu dealer and I saw Ascenders on sale for nearly the same off as the SSr's!!
Just for kicks, I also went to the Toyota-Scion dealer and there were some small insentives but nothing too eyepoping.

I went to the Isuzu website the other day . they have HUGE discounts on the Ascender. Actually on ALL of their models. An Ascender for around 18,800. isn't bad for a mid size SUV.

The SSR is not selling well therefore they need to dump a rebate on it. Why Isuzu even tries is beyond me given how dismal their sales are. The local Ford dealer which is the #2 largest Ford dealer in California has 2004 Tbirds for 15k off, 10k on 2005s. Cars that no one wants have high rebates. Funny how that works.

It doesn't sell because it's obviously pointless...
GM always has some incentives for their cars, it sucks that they have to do that. Toyota was selling the Camry for only 16K this past winter. It's really cheap and makes you think who would buy any of its american competitors.
BTW, what happened to the "Cars that need to go out of produdction" thread?

Well, I didn't want to be mean, but yes the SSR is pointless. The HHR is a clone of a sportcute past its prime. The new GM full-size pickups and SUVs will hit the market with a thud. The big SUVs are very soft in sales and I will bet that just as sure as shooting the new GM900 is not "all new" and more likely is the current vehicle with new sheetmetal and a few under the skin updates. The current versions were touted as "all new" when they arrived, but they were reskins of the previous version. For example, the windshields on all Chevy full-sized pickups and SUV are interchangeable from the late 80's to now. GM is in TROUBLE big time.
