As we all know .. bugatti clames that the Veyron is a 400kph+ car..
But how realistic is it?
1: It has a huge quad turbo W16.. lots of power
2: It "only" makes 200hp and 300Nm more then the Koenigsegg CCR..
3: It weighs 2000kg (they say it only going to be 1900 when it comes) and the Koenigsegg CCR weighs 1180kg..
4: its not especially aerodynamic.. (one of the resons it has been delayd so long).. the CCR on the otherhand...
So let see.. It`s heavy, its not that powerfull for its weight, its unstable at high speeds..
i personaly thinks it going to reach 350kph .. nothing more..
its only going to be.. the ekspensiv alternative to the enzo..
PS: Bugatti vs Koenigsegg facts..
Weight
Veyron = 2000kg (thay say its going to be 1900 but its 2000 now)
CCR = 1180kg
Horspower (Euro) (Kg/HP Ratio)
Veyron = 1001hp (1,99 kg/hp)
CCR = 806hp (1,46 kg/hp)

Torque (euro) (Kg/Nm ratio)
Veyron = 1250Nm (1,6 kg/nm)
CCR = 920Nm (1,28 kg/nm)
(the lower .. the better, and the CCR wins)

You're comparing a finely polished diamond with a rough and scrappy bulldog. People will buy the Bugatti because its a Bugatti, and to brag about having 1001 hp. And the likelihood is that the Veyron will be able to get to that speed eventually.

Wow, they're still building that thing? How many years has it been anyway?... it better come with a zillion horsepower with that kind of wait.

I don't think the Bugatti Veyron will ever get close to the CCR to be honest. I guess now Bugatti has to work out just two minor problems... the steering and the brakes. IMO, Volkswagen should put their money on their bread and butter family sedans and improving quality, not making some ridiculous halo car that will never do as promised.

The Bugatti Veyron's 15 minutes of fame are long gone. Production has been "about to begin" for years. The engineering glitches have been well documented. The car is a huge embarassment for VW. Never promise somthing that the product cannot deliver. Why VW needs Bugatti when they have Lamborghini, I will never know.

Like I said before, a Bugatti is bought because it says Bugatti on the badge, not to be some ultra-sporty supercar. And they never promised 251 miles per hour, they simply said that that could be possible with the car's weight and the amount of horsepower it has.

The Bugattis and Lamborghinis are the same thing in essence. High-end automotive bling bling made out of pure unobtanium. If the Bugattis and Lamborghinis are different animals then so are the 2006 Kia Rio and Hyundai Accent. To say that these two exotics are different animals is to split hairs. For VW to say that it "should" be able to reach a certain speed given power and weight data is a tacit promise. Besides the lure of the Bugati badge is dubious at best given that the marque died probably a half century ago, was revived for a supercar that never lived up to its promises, and has no direct lineage between the Type 35 and Veyron.

I bet that if you check below the driver's seat (between the seat and the door), a few months after the car is eventually released, you'll find the one thing you tend to find in far too many cars...
...BOOGERS!!!
