With Ford redesigning the Mustang to appeal with the looks of an older Mach 1, is it just me or does anyone think that Chevrolet could jump on this idea and bring back the Camaro with a 1969 looks and feel and really get a war going between the 2 again. When I look at the new Mustang I cant really say much cause im only 22 and didnt grow up with the original one but its still a great lookin car and I think if chevy were to bring back the 1969 style camaro z28 it would be a good contender maybe even bring back a old pontiac firebird who knows.
I wont include Dodge in this cause I think the new charger is straight up ugly and with 4 doors aint even in class with the new Mustang for retro looks and power.

You do realize that the Charger R/T has more horse power (40) and way more torque than the Mustang, don't you...

you do realize there will be special edition stangs that completely destroy everything under $50k right on top of(or under) the price range of anything that DCX makes equipped with a 'hemi'? And that is before the next generation of V8's come out. We finally get to see SVT's car on March 28th. Its also the $30k SE cars like the existing Mach that will really dot the lanscape, already with 5.4L rumors abound.

southjersey600r check out Cheers and Gears. They have a recent interview with Lutz in which he specifically states that there will be no Camaro replacement, despite all the rummors to the contrary.

Are they thinking about producing a vehicle like this at all or are they just not going to enter that part of the market? Oh, kevinb120- I was just talking about the current Mustang. There is no doubt that the upcoming Stangs will blow the doors off the Charger. Sorry about my comments, my temper was kind of short at the time.

This is where the new and completely redesigned Monte Carlo kicks in to "crush the competition with the limited edition". This beautiful car is will make the Mustang and Charger owners drop their jaws.
yeah Chevrolet really needs something really soon.
Why did chevy stop producing the Camaro? This might be a obvious answer, but I never figured it out. ???

He says he hopes they can "get it" and if GM does not get it, we will let them know!
Onto the title up top. Mr. Lutz also said this about the return of the Camaro:
"I'd love to add at this point for all you Camaro fans that I'm using the blog to announce the rebirth of the F-bodies ... but I'm afraid that would be tantamount to yet another Internet hoax. Sorry.
But I do love the passion with which the Camaro faithful express their undying commitment to the object of their affections. Believe me, I've gotten enough email from you to know! At the end of the day, that's what our business is all about - inspiring passion among the faithful."
Now, without sounding too cocky, C&G's own Chris Pauwel's Camaro rendering did not make Septembers issue of Popular Hot Rodding for nothing. There are obvious reasons why General Motors can not comment on the Camaro returning (if it is) and a big reason is the Canadian Automotive Union. This year GM will sit down with the CAW in their annual talks and expect somethings to be said after such talks.
Uncle Bob, how 'bout a Chevelle
I'll also say this. If our C&G Poll in the news section is any indiciation as to what people want and expect out of GM, the Zeta architecture is the most anticipated to come out of GM in recent memory. Truth be told, I don't care what it's called just make it affordable, 350hp+ and distinctive, American styling and I'm there.

PHR September Camaro Story

quoted from C&G
some people also brought up some good points....the fact that Lutz is acknowledging the rumors of the camaro's return should tell you something right there...he also mentions "the return of the F-bodies" ...well, they won't be F-bodies anymore will they
Even if the Camaro name itself doesnt return, there will be a zeta based vehicle which will take its place...

Chevy dropped the Camaro and Pontiac dropped the Firebird because their combined sales were under 100,000 units. No business case could be made for continuing.

People with Mullets CANNOT live without the Camaro, otherwise they wouldn't be Camaro Mullet people.
