Warranty Direct undertook this study, see link below for detail info.
1. Mazda
2. Honda
3. Toyota
4. Mitsubishi
5. Kia
I have to say I like their approach to studying reliability better than Consumer Reports or J.D. Power since claims are used to actually track problems (knowing the point weighted average of each type of problem would be insightful htough).
Although, I do wonder about the use of used cars, since in most cases the current owner may not be the first owner of the vehicle. That may certainly affect results. Also, the large age range may account for the variance in reliability (an average vehicle age may be helpful to validate data).
I wouldn't mind hearing from some UK members about their opinion of Warranty Direct and the studies they do (as wellas the one with WhatCar!).
http://www.duemotori.com/news/...y.php
