2005 saw the revival of Auto-Design Contests at CSS. The first, Range Rover Re-design was a huge success and we have gone from strength to strength since then. We have seen some amazing designs from our master artists: SV, Hussein, Domino, Plum and knihc2008 to name a few and some huge improvments in peoples work: or2001, car-fan, fblacka.
In 2006we shall hopefully see the emergance of new artists and the continuing improvement of our current artists. 2006 will also see a re-formatting of the Design Contests.
Design of the Year: Everyone can enter their favourite design from 2005 and on January 7th we will start voting. You can enter only one design.
Thanks for a great 2005.
Aidan
Auto-Design Moderator.

Thanks for an awesome first half of 2005. I hope I can return to these awesome contests at some point in 2006, hopefully soon. Here's my simple but clean IMO Fiat 500 "Topolino"

oh do you mean we enter one of our own drawings, the one we thought was best, and we all vote for which one was best (and do we have to enter a contest entry or just any drawing we did this year)? hmmm good idea, i'll have to go put my entry up soon
wow and i'm a master artist?? lol im really flattered although i always thought domino, knihc, plumcrazy and several other people here were in a completely different league from me...

2005 was crazy. lots of good designs, and this automotive design contests thing is starting to ramp up like crazy. i'll have to complain tho, we need them to come by faster... they seem to be waaaay slower in cycle than the photoshop contests are. just my 2 cents.
it was pretty hard to decide which one of my designs was my favorite, but in the end i chose this oldie: the BMW X6. though the quality isn't the best, it just gave me the best memories because the design came so easily to my hand and i've got plenty of other sketches which show my X6 vision a bit clearer, but anyway. i'd drive it, and that's that.

Check out the rules. Also if anyone doesnt get back to me on the subject of a new contest within 3 days, I will choose the contest myself.

WOW Hussein! Do you have a 1024*768 wallpaper size of that (and your permission to use it)? That is easily easily the most awesome design I have seen. WOAH!

most of my drawings from this year weren't contest entries, but i chose my nissan Z contest entry. my 2007 toyota camry entry is probably my real favorite (especially since it was quite close to the real thing, at least up front), but i can't find it anywhere. overall, though, i think the Z was one of the best "all-rounders" i've done so far.

Its really cool, SV I can also see some inspiration taken from Domino (In a good way). It is amazing to see everyone improve so much...
