Objective
With many American car-lovers getting frustrated by most of the home-grown products being non-discript 'bubble' cars. An American company has commissioned an all out 'Muscle Car'. Your objective is to design this iconic vehicle, which needs to be a stong design.
Thanks to knihc2008 for the idea.
Other Details
Brand: Can be any American brand
Model: Muscle Car
Contest will close on the 28th of May.
Good Luck!

I undertand you Whipster. I guess it all sums up that humility is a highly needed atribute
I'm kind of blank on this contest, I've never designed a musclecar before. In fact I can't remember the last time I design a sports car. I guess it's just me.

I'll give this contest a shot, count me in!

That Is a great looking Sketch! good work!

05-17-2005, 09:19 PM
alright, so i lied. here's my sketch. i'm packing for hong kong right now and i said to myself, "well i simply can't just leave a competition without a fight..." so i googled a bunch of pictures of camaros (of the '69 era) and spent about 10 minutes redrawing and modernizing what i saw. here's the result:

i know, not a winner in particular. just wanted to have my say included

Anorexorcist, I love your simple design!!!
Knihc, I agree with Guy here... nonetheless nothing beats you, my Lord.

im pulling out of this contest due to another one that has started at another forum(which i really want to enter)

Guys, ignore what Plum says. He's been a real wanker since a certain sketch I did (we won't go there, either.)

That's my underlay and original sketch. And Plum, distorting ones work to make it look like it was a pure rip-off is a cheap shot. In the future, stay the hell away from my posts. I've put up with all I can take of your bull****ting.
Well, look like I'm off to find another way of drawing cars, which means I'm scrapping all concepts I had planned to post today. I'm feeding them all to the shredder.

05-20-2005, 03:53 PM
Really I...uh... don't wanna judge here. I'll hold my opinion until (if ever) we can figure out what's really going on here. For now I'm just kind of confused...
As for this contest, I'm not sure if I'll have the time, but hopefully I can get something... I'd hate to miss one. It's a pretty cool one, too.

It makes us both (me and Plum) look like a bunch of jackasses.
Well, folks, I'm not withdrawing because of Plum. I don't get what his problem is, but, it's serious, whatever it is. I just wish he would treat me as an oversight and ignore me. I've done what had to be done in the past, but Plum won't let it go. It's sad. Eh, whatever. I've said what I've needed to say and I'll just start ignoring Plum. What matters is that I know the truth.

05-20-2005, 04:55 PM
id like to know whats going on between you to.....

05-20-2005, 06:20 PM
Anorexorcist,
A spade is a spade and black is black. You can whine and call me names all you want but the painfully obvious truth is you are lifting my artwork. You can post your "original" sketches till the cows come home but that negates nothing. What more do I have to do to prove that you are stealing other than just post the two? A big mistake on my Monte was that the perspective is off on the front clip and you copied that exactly. The A-pillar is draw at the same angle and you duplicated the wheel spokes down to the lug nut holes. You've done this on two other drawings, that I've seen, and on two other boards/forums. The only thing I've "distored" on yours was turn it 20 degrees to show everyone where the original sorce material came from.
Ya know, this is quite becoming a farce for I showed this, and the other threads, to my work buddies and they actually laughed. You have no ground to stand on and claim this work as your own and don't think for a moment that I'm going to passively sit back and let you hijack my work.
05-20-2005, 06:27 PM
Acctually, PlumCrazy, you have no ground to stand on either. How do we know you didnt steal these photos from anorexorcist? Nobody knows. I don't want to take sides because I know neither of you on a personal basis, but maybe these comments from both of you should be PM'd to each other, and not take up board space.
And you do have this proof, I'd like to see it

After looking at your Art Work at C&G and GMI, I am at a total loss for words, and it is quite clear that Plumcrazy is the author of these works
05-21-2005, 03:48 PM
Plum, I think we should take this arguement off the boards before both our asses get banned. Or, if you want to forfiet membership, be my guest. I'm not and I don't plan on it.
And I'm still not forfieting the competition. I stand by the fact that the Chevelle is original. But, just to shut Plum up, I'll whip something new up. And, dammit, I'll do it better than Plum.

Okay, okay... here it goes.
I decided (what with Dodge on the Hemi kick right now) that it would be relatively easy for them to bring back the Challenger as a two-door coupe and, in a sense, undo some of their wrongs in the minds of muscle car purists who were upset about the Charger being a sedan. I envision the new Challenger as forgoing the V6 choices of its more staid, 4-door brethren, instead existing only in R/T or SRT forms (345hp 5.7L and 425hp 6.1L Hemis, respectively) and thus positioning itself as bridging the gap between the Magnum/Charger and Viper. Of note are the matte black "shaker" hood scoop and optional rear spoiler, "Hemi" side graphic, obscenely large (and wide) rolling stock, and the unmistakable Dodge face (love it or hate it).
I'd love to see Dodge slip something like this into their lineup. I can see the advertisements now: "GTO: Breakfast of Champions" or perhaps "Mustang: It's What's for Dinner." And imagine the platform sharing possibilities.... 300C coupe anyone? i dont like it, everything seems oversized, the headlamps the fenders the rear.nice sketch and tech but im not loving it,
keith nice sketch, it doesnt really say muscle but to help you out
a new gen muscle car is:
agressive looking, not very curvy, not too boxyhas retro stlying cues.(if you need more help google is your friend
but i like your sketch,i really like your dual centered exhaust, i dont see alot of sketchs with thoe(besides mines )
just a little perspective mistakes, but overall good

Twisted : Nice sketch... the face strays a bit from current Chevy models but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Aside from the rear wheel perspective issue, it looks really good! Nice going
anonms : Cool... reminds me of a first-generation Mazda RX-7, which I like because it rethinks the traditional conception of the American musclecar. While most of the entries in this contest will be blocky, blunt-nosed throwbacks to old musclecars, yours is very forward thinking... almost practical. And the Chevy face is done well.
anorexorcist : Awesome car. Perfect competitor for the Dodge Charger... but way better looking The front is very in-your-face, definitely Chevrolet, and the sculpted fenders look great. DLO is very Ford Five Hundred, though... not very GM.
testarossa7 : Wow, awesome sketching once again, and definitely screams American Muscle. I like your modern interpretation of the old Rally-style wheels, and the rear view is bad ass. Not a huge fan of the front, but I understand your inspiration.
Graffititech : I like your idea (the current GTO, IMO, is very bland... your sketch makes it much more aggressive); though you might want to incorporate the Pontiac dual grill. Besides, the grill is massive, by dividing it in two it would look better, proportionally, in relation to the rest of the car. Very dynamic design, though! Love the side!
revilo_ I also like your concept, and the rear view of your Firepower is pretty aggressive, but if you made the exhaust outlets larger, as well as the wheels, it would have a more muscular presence. Keep it up, bud! You're improving.
azumi : Totally unconventional, and I really like it. Props for trying something that no one else would think of, haha. I loved that front on the Aura, and I love it here. Though I agree with whoever said the headlights look a bit small. And some sweet wheels could really set it off... (P.S. I like the name, but I believe there was already a Mercury Comet?). Anyway, great sketch... it's not often I see one of your sketches unrendered, you have a nice clean style.
or2001 : Great sketch, very nice coloring. I personally am not a huge fan of the front, but I could definitely see this as a Dodge, and the proportions are awesome... very muscle car. You've got great skill and I hope to see more of your work on here!
PlumCrazy : Uhm, are there words to express it? Hardly. I love your sketches. This thing looks ready for production and wow, I'd probably sell my soul to buy one. Of course I'd order mine without the spoiler... that car is aggressive enough without one.
fblacka : Well I love your shading, the sketch is terrific. And I suppose in a weird way this could be considered a muscle car (If we look past Knihc's assertion that "it has to be SUPER AMERICANA to the core" ). I agree that the features are a little too exaggerated though... makes the car look too short.
Keith : Cool car, man... the rear is especially nice. I agree with Graff, however, in that it's more sleek touring car than all-American muscle car. Not necessarily a bad thing, though. Nice sketching, too, but what's with the parrot?

Hello Carspyshots Community,
I'm a car interested boy. I love car design so today I've designed my American Muscle Car, called "Ford Muscelegance". It's like a mix of sporty and elegant muscle car (more sporty than elegant)... I know it's not so good like the other entries but I only want to see what you think in the voting. Sorry for the worse quality... I don't know why...

holy crap. I really like that. Did you use the GT90 or GT40 as influence? I really like the shape of the front end. The headlights in the grille remind me of older Mustangs, and even older Escorts. Very, very nice job. I wanna see more from you.

edit: I thought of a new for it. Ford Musclecat or Puma
