thanx for all the compilments guys. really appreciate them. I know the perspective is really messed up. the reason probably is that i used the scketch i drew up in my english class as the basis. i tried fixing it a little bit, but i didnt want to ruin my really neat sketch. and about the belly-out door-rocker panel does look like the one in your cars. it was supposed to be different but that's what i ended up with. sorry.

Well, here's my take. I envisioned a sportier Camry to appeal to European consumers, so in addition to making the Camry more sport-oriented as a whole (think downmarket Lexus GS), I also thought of adding a factory-installed performance package called T-line, complete with beefier wheels, sport tires, a firmer suspension, and aerodynamic bodykit. All T-Line models also receive distinctive badging, as evidenced by the new logo on the front grille. Regardless of trim level, the new Camry will continue to offer the uncompromising levels of performance, refinement, comfort, and reliability expected in all Toyota automobiles.
The new corporate face I designed is marked by the obvious T-shaped grille, flanked by GS-esque headlights. This is to strengthen consumer identity with Toyota products, previously noted as being "faceless" and without a cohesive design language. The T-grille could be integrated in varying degrees on to other Toyota models, as well.

BUT when i read what u say about it, i get it and its great.
I c the GS headlight and they look mad. but other then that this looks nuthin like a Toyota, and talk about a new face i tihnk its alright, bit strange at first but now lookin at it longer, it might work.
This is a HUGE revolution fa the toyota image
good stuff

Domino - great job mate, and nice work on the corporate face, and interesting design element with the T-grille. But I have to ask, it is coincidence or intentional that the roofline is similar to the MB CLS?

ford_gt_rules, your post never make any sense to me. ever.
anyway, here's my entry. it's not particularly, uh, nice, and my conceptual sketches actually look better. but i wanted to get this one off my chest really quickly so i could stop working on it and concentrate on my AP testing.
Next-Gen Toyota Camry
After the success of the Toyota MR, the company has decided to borrow its distinctive design in its next company face; the most important vehicle in the company's line up is the first to flaunt this new face. Borrowed cues from the MR include the bottom air dam shape, the headlight shape, the undulating beltline, the "centripetal" rear-wheel-arch-leading line, and the taillamp-rear trunk lid combination. All these traits will play into future Toyota design, as well as car's distinctive T-grille (btw, much less prominent and obvious as the ones above :P ) The new Camry also shares several design cues from previous Camrys: for example, the thin taillamps hark back to the last-gen Camry and the hood detailing mirrors the current-gen Camry.
conceptual sketch:

conceptual sketch:

final sketch:

meh, i guess it's alrite. was going more for drawing technique, not churning out a winner. so it definitely looks more rough and tumbled than my other ones but the reflections, wheels, etc. represent are all things i concentrated on, probably making the rest of the car more eh. eh.

Azumi, very very good entry. Good styling and render. My only criticism is that the car looks way too compact for the Camry.
Knihc, since you posted your drawings for Porsche DC and BMW X6 DC, I became a fan of you. I even put one of your drawings as a Wallpaper on my Desktop. But your Camry doesn't look as excellent as your previous entries IMO. Drawings are busy and full of disturbing lines (yeah I know it's your technique but here you've exaggerated a bit), and also design isn't too creative compared to what you made us get used to. Here's my entry
Its designed to compete against the European Accord and in some way the new Passat coupe. I was designing this car as a luxury sedan and then saw the contest and turned it into a Camry. The car might be offered in the US as a Lexus ES replacement. The car will have a hybrid engine to boost performance and 0-60 should be in the 4-5 sec range. The top car is a side view while the bottom car is the 3/4 view.

Please C &C, as this is my first 3-d drawing in over a year and I want to really improve.

Azumi - I think it's great; I love the front... it's fresh and works well for Toyota. I think it's a very feasible design... sportier than the current model, but not too flashy (which for the Camry is a good thing... enhances its broad appeal).
Knihc- wonderful technique, as usual, and I like how you incorporated the elements from your MR sketches. But I think, proportionally, it's a little extreme for Toyota's bread and butter sedan. I just don't think the extreme sportscar proportions work on a midsize sedan. Is it a hatchback? Very dynamic
Krypton - Nice concept, I like the character line along the side that leads into the tail lamps. The new 2007 Toyota Camry has been designed with both the European and American markets in mind. Loosely based on the Avensis and tested on the Nurburgring, the Camry can come with a 2.4-liter, 160 horsepower inline four or a 3.5-liter, 280 horsepower V-6. a 2.0-liter, 114-horsepower D-4D engine is also offered in Europe. Another highlight of the range are two hybrid engines: one coupled with the 2.4-liter four for V6-like power with 4-cylinder-like economy, and one coupled with a 245 horsepower version of the V6 for V8-like power with V6 fuel economy.

http://img204.echo.cx/img204/7...n.jpg
what bugs me about this is that domino and knihc and other people's pictures uploaded here look so great, the lines are so fine and thin, and mine's all fuzzy. come to think of it, my other drawings didn't scan this fuzzy either. i guess it's just my computer...i think my drawing is ok, but i still have little chance of winning with all the great entries.
i'm going to try to do an interior and rear drawing, but i probably won't finish in time.

thanks, i'm glad you like it. i just haven't drawn anything in a month so i haven't had much practice lately, and i think plum's, domino's, and knihc's drawings among others are wonderful. i do try to make my drawings more like real cars than conceptual drawings though. anyway, i'm really glad you think it's that good

overall perspective is good, but the back wheel is too narrow and so is the car itself. overall, though, good drawing.

Hi, i haven't done a drawing for this site yet, but this topic excited me, so I tried to draw a Camry. Here it is, the all new Camry. Its designed to be more exciting and dynamic, taking the new Avalon grille and blending it into a more elegant looking machine. Power would come from slightly detuned version of GS300 3.0L V6 with VVT and Direct injection giving 240 and 225lbft of torque. Extensive use of aluminum ensures lightweight, hence boosts fuel economy.

Hope you guys like it

Thanks for the comments.
Tman: I like the look of your camry and like Knihc2008 nice translation of your MR2 design into a clean and dynamic sedan.
Guy : your sketching has improved greatly and your entry looks pretty clean. The design however looks more like a sports car than a braed and butter sedan.
Domino: FANTASTIC looking car, very radical yet still keeping the 3 box shape. I'm also digging your T grille.
Plumcrazy: That sketching style can be recognized from outer space. I've seen some of your work on GMinsidenews and this one contihues the eloquent sketching technique, great job!!.
knihc2008: Like the others said this entry fails to match the designs of your recent showings, but still a well thought out design if not a little bit too radical for the american market camry.

Modified by taskbearer at 9:49 AM 5/11/2005
