I am pretty surprised with my results in previous contests I have really thought that my drawings wouldn't be so poor and more persons would vote for them.
What a shame.

Ah, Whipster, don't be discouraged. It's got nothing to do with talent, everyone here's got talent. And your drawings are very respected on this forum. It's just that sometimes it comes together real well and sometimes it doesn't. Some people just get inspired by a certain topic, while others get totally stumped. I, for one, am having trouble thinking of how I want to approach this particular topic, so I don't really feel like I have any good ideas right now! Haha, inspiration comes and goes. (Which is not to say you weren't inspired when you made your other designs!) I'm sure once you see a topic you like a lot, which gives you a lot of ideas, it will be reflected in your sketches. But don't let it get to you if you don't get many votes! It's not your style or technique or anything; all that is fine!
Sorry if that didn't make much sense... it sounded right in my head.
And on that note I am (a) completely stumped by my own topic and (b) I have a real mess of schoolwork to do at the moment, so I may hold off on this contest for a little while.

Eh, I don't think I'll be entering this one. I just can't make anything work. But, I'll probably enter the other design competition. It's easier for me when I don't have a specific brand to do that has to follow a specific design language.

Okay, okay. Since no one seems to interested in my Porsche topic ( ), I volunteer to shut this thread so that we only have one contest going at any given time.
This way more people will contribute to a given topic, and since I know we all have busy lives, no one will feel obligated to compete more than once (I, for one, am not sure I have time at the moment to compete in both).
Does anyone see any objection to that?

We can always say porshce management have stated that resources are to be focused on other projects rather than this and it has been put in on hiatus? or we can keep going.

A friendly tip: Try to do sketches that are more unique, even if that means that you have to make less "perfect" technically speaking drawings.
I took this tip and used it to design this...so hope ypu like t...i'llbe brave and be first to post so tell me what you all think..
Comments welcome and wanted, good and bad..

http://img230.exs.cx/img230/8950/guycars0121bm.jpg

It has headlights that look like my favourites from the whole Porsche history and the simple lines of the first 911. I only find the hood a bit too Enzo or slr like. If you could just tone it down a bit? Guy: I think that headlamps should refer to the current Carrera (with round headlamps), not to the previuos one. However, nice.
Axle: Proportions and perspective are totally off but I can see what you had in your mind while drawing that, and I can say that I love it.

Yeah, I couldn't get the "porshe shape" right. I erased much of what I had started with and messed it up too much. I originally tried to make it look like the new 911. Its difficult making a sedan look like a porsche. Damn now that I look at it its too narrow and the shape is deformed oh well.

Well, finally started on my entry. I will hopefully add another view... maybe rear or interior, but I'll have to see how much spare time I have these next few days.
My interpretation of the Porsche sedan is called the "Catamaran," referring of course to the double-hulled boats known for speed, stability, and space. It's a coupe-proportioned 4-door, with a long hood and sweeping roofline, as well as a high, undulating waist. The rear eschews the use of a conventional trunk in favor of a hatchback, which maximizes functionality while retaining the essence of the Porsche design. The design draws heavily on the Carrera GT, especially in the front fascia and headlamps, while references to the Carrera (wing mirrors, rear), Targa (DLO), 1993 Boxster Concept (Windshield), and Cayenne (front intakes) round out a shape that is undeniably Porsche.
I envision the Cayenne's V8 as the primary powerplant, with the possibility of a Turbo model and of course the option of the "Catamaran 4S" equipped with AWD.

my interpretation of the upcoming porsche panamera.
i started working using two important factors: keep the classic porsche shape and style but make sure there is room for a front-engined cayenne V8 up front. four doors: of course.
my design started in the front; i knew that, with the engine up front, i would need to get more air up there and i would need to raise the hood in order for the engine to fit. so i had to reshape the classic 911 front to incorporate additional grilles without making the front look like one big gaping hole, ala cayenne turbo. the headlights are the classic 911 ovals, pulled back slightly. the bottom air dams sweep up to conjoin the body line on the side, and also incorporates fog lamps and turn signals. the side is pure 911, with the rounded greenhouse and large fenders. the rear is a new interpretation on the porsche design: more squared off but then again more rounded, with an integrated bumper. a pop up spoiler comes out of the base of the rear window, increasing downforce at high speed.
enjoy!

Nice entries all of you!
Gotta love DoMiNo's shading always!
And Knihks styling is good.
However:
Domino: I think the front does look slightly off, although Its no big deal realy. I cant see though how you're supposed to sit in the back with such a low roof!
Knihks. Only Thing that bugs me is the extra long wheelbase. I think It's a bit too much.
However, both are very good entries.
I'm working on mine.

Thanks for all the comments guys! They really help. And yes, I understand about the roofline... it would indeed be difficult to sit back there, haha!
Knihc2008: LOVE it... very dynamic! The front doesn't scream Porsche but the rear is so spot on. It's awesome.
Axle: An overall nice design; as it turns out I should have probably incorporated a more traditional roofline, like yours. I like the headlights, as well, and the overall shape is still Porsche.
Guy: I love the stance of your car: very low, very wide-looking. I personally don't mind the last-gen headlights, and I think they look good on this example. However as someone said before, the hood is kind of busy...

Domino - What can I say, that is a great drawing! But the front does look a bit 'bubbly'. But level of detail is astonishing.
Knihc2008 - Nice work. While the front windscreen is not too flash, the rear is awesome! Hopefully Porsche can incorporate some of your rear work into the real one.
Whipster - It doesn't look anything remotely like a Porsche, but you said yourself it was a design revolution, so I guess tht covers it. Nice touch with the suicide doors - like it.
Superfresa - Nice, reminds me of the old-school Porsche's. But like Dominio's, the front looks too 'bubbly'.
